I don’t do the spray the soil method, in fact I never spray the soil or the sprout, if it needs water, it gets watered fully to runoff with a cup. I don’t see any reason to give small amounts of water when you can just top off the tank (water fully), specially if it’s a quicker drying medium like coco or Promix HP. I don’t like to mess with the plants too much, just give them what they need and then leave them alone to grow. I’d rather water them fully every couple/few days then spray them daily or multiple times a day.

I just checked on them again and they’re dry
so just to clarify, fully water or sprout till run off then leave em alone till nthey get almost dry again until they sprout right?

What I ended up doing this time was spray more than enough around where the seed is to stay daamp for a few days then sprayed over the seed. There was no run off though, I pussied out

Sorry; been running all day. Almost 70F and no wind so we had to go skeet shooting. Nice to get the sub-gauge tubes out.
When I load the Solo cup with Promix I first thoroughly wet it then squeeze out excess water. That will keep the sprout for a week under a dome. From there I spray dome as needed. At two weeks I’m on the Jack’s but don’t water to runoff yet. Mine’s now at the point of transplant so will do similar in larger pot. I know you want to keep media wet but for my style of growing I just keep it damp so plant can seek out moisture. Then again I could be full of hooey haha!

No worried my friend. I just ended up praying the hell out of the outsides and a little bit over the seed. There was no run off. Lets see what happens tomorrow

Yes, either water fully or spray (you keep saying sprout instead of spray LOL) until runoff, then let dry a bit and repeat.

My last grow I was watering with runn off from seed to harvest
It didn’t seem to harm them
I also threw them straight in soil after just 24hours in water.
I think I might of had a tiny tap root on maybe 2 out of 12 seeds
