Yeah my seeds usually sprout in 4 days with my solo cup seed starting method with no domes and no misting regardless of humidity and many times my humidity is as low as 25RH while starting seeds as I may have plants in late flowering so my humidifiers may be off at that point.
Look at my 5 day old sprouts (I always take pics of my 5 day olds so others can compare) in any of my grows that I’ve documented here, the Gorilla Glue, the Blue Dream, even the Zkittlez and Banana Kush, I would put my sprout size and health against anybody’s. My results say that high humidity is not necessary even at the seedling stage.
I’ve never really bothered with high humidity at any point of the grow and I’m happy if the RH is at least 40 in veg and early flowering and even less in late flowering. Dr Bruce Bugbee pretty much says humidity at 40-60 is fine and to stay under 70 in his Maximizing Cannabis Yields youtube video and warns of problems at higher RH (powdery mildew and bud rot).
Yes I understand VPD though I’ve never really been a fan of trying to keep RH so high in home grows as it can lead to more problems than it solves, powdery mildew and bud rot in late flowering. If I was running a dedicated sealed grow room where every aspect is perfectly controlled (temp, humidity, co2, etc…) and running air snipers to reduce spores and pathogens then I would go with VPD, in my bedroom - not gonna even try to go with VPD as it’d be too muggy for me and the wife to live in and IMO - entirely unnecessary for great results and can cause new growers more trouble than it’s worth.

Thanks a lot @Hellraiser I had to mist today as the medium was completely dry and cups were light. Thats ok to keep sprouting with jacks 321 as it goes dry right? Im using Promix HP
My current temp is 22c and 31%
When I re use my res of jacks 321 should I always check for pH but right now my res is in a gallon jog and I cant fit an air stone in there. What would you suggest. Just keep it in dark cabinet until its gone

Should be fine to keep topping off with the Jacks, though I do give some RO water only now and then while in solo cups as to not push them too hard at the beginning.
I often keep some premade Jacks in a gallon jug for my clones and just keep it closed up and in the dark, yeah the ph will drift up a little but I don’t worry about it, stays close enough as long as it doesn’t sit for more than a week.

@Hellraiser Thanks again. Now I put away the jug last night and checked the ph this morning it went from 6 to 6.1. Was it worth it to go through the hassle of using ph down then up to bring it to 6.0 or not really?
In promix I know you want to stay between 5.8-6 pH
I forgot to mention i forgot to water the promix before putting in my seed btw. just sprouted with jacks once put in. A decent amount though

Not worth the hassle IMO and adding unnecessary ppms with the ph down/up. At times I get stuck with “the ph has to be this specific number” but I’m getting over it, close enough seems to work just fine as well.

should i sprout more until run off or just use clear domes. I wanted to stick to Hellraisers method without the domes this grow.
The promix was never washed and used straight out of the bag

I’d just water/feed til a little runoff even in solo cups (usually 4-5 oz is enough for a little runoff). I’m always a fan of runoff, helps to keep the salts from building up and lets you know you watered enough to get all the medium wet.

I’m on my first grow, and I’m also using pro mix hp with Jacks 321. I watered with regular PH tap water up until a week after sprout. Then started watering with 4-5oz of Jacks321 full strength. with no problems

Yeah I water fully to runoff from the beginning to the end, seed to harvest, every watering is to runoff. I normally watered the potting soil to runoff, plant the seed, then usually don’t water again til the seed sprouts, then water to runoff again and repeat as needes til harvest time. I’ve also done the same with coco - expand the coco, plant the seed, water til runoff then wait til the seed sprouts and then water. I never give any more water while waiting for the seed to sprout though as they don’t need it with the full watering at the start when seeds were planted.
I’ve been doing it for years and was pleased to see it also reinforced by Dr Bruce Bugbee in his youtube videos - always water to runoff so salts don’t buildup.

So what I did was put the promix HP in the cup then put the seeds the sprouted with jacks 321, the soil was empty. Now you recommend i feed with Jacks till run off or just keep sprouting everyday as it gets dry a lot @hellraiser
