Jacks321 PPM question, new to using Jack's please explain

let’s just say i have a batch of jacks 321 mixed up already. what are the consequences of adding the silica later? does it render the solution unusable or is it more a ph control thing?

Huge Beautiful girls

As far as I understand depending on exactly what compounds are active/inactive in the specific substance/ brand you are using it could possibly cause a reaction between some of the compounds rendering it to not be actively soluble to your plants during the watering/feed. Me for example I use Agsil 16h for a silica additive and it’s a dry silica , if I dont put it into my water first and mix it well to totally dissolve it before adding in my Jack’s it causes a reaction and I get like white floaties in my water showing me that it is not mixing but if I do it in the order I stated above when I’m done the water is crystal clear and that also shows me that everything is fully dissolved, mixed, and readily available for my plants to uptake through the watering/feeding.

Just add the silica to water before anything else , then mix in your nutes and give to plants , just make sure it is done in the order stated above especially of your using Jack’s

Don’t worry about not adding the silica at the start. Silica is added to your nute mix to strengthen the stems and branches. It helps develop strong cell walls and makes the stems stronger and more woody. For this reason you may want to hold off on silica when young. If you’re planning on LST or SCROG, things won’t be nearly so limber and you have a greater chance of snapping, rather than bending.

you know. i am trainin and noticed that i could manipulate more than usual. thnx

Yeah absolutely! Once you have your plants trained and where you want them, you can introduce silica then.

I have always added the silica, let sit for 10 to 15 minutes before adding nutrients, don’t know if necessary, but has been suggested to do so. I just started with jacks for the 1st time and as of now the stems seem to be pretty strong, so I’m going to see what happens without silica this run

cool, thanx for lookin out. i was beating up on the gals last night. hopefully if all done right I will have a 6x10 flat canopy, just kinda worried about the hermie’s coming to visit if i abuse them too long

Same as @ReelOfishalTrees for silica add. I usually introduce this around flower time for autos and definitely after I’ve tortured and manipulated them. I’ve snapped my share of branches pre-silica and after. It does stiffen them up considerably :love_you_gesture:

I’m planning to use Jacks with Npk Raw silica for my first grow. I also have great white for the root system, can I use that in place of recharge and will I need something like tribus or molasses?

Yeah that would be fine instead of Recharge, don’t really need tribus and molasses but they would be good additions.
