I’ve been looking at Jacks different nute blends and bought some 7-15-30 Finish. I’m thinking about using it in flower after the first 2 weeks of Blossom Booster, along with part B and Epsom . It has a bit higher percentage of some micro nutrients and a bit less Magnesium and Molybdenum. I’m thinking of running it at 4 grams Finish, 1.5 grams part B and 1 gram Epsom. That would give me a 3:1 cal to mag ratio and slightly reduced nitrogen through flower. The last 2-3 weeks I would run straight Finish with cal mag . 7% nitrogen plus 4% from the cal mag would be plenty enough to carry them through finishing in my mind. May not need the cal mag last two weeks…. What’s y’all’s thoughts on this, I get bored sometimes, even though I don’t usually fix what isn’t broke, doesn’t mean it can’t be better… @OGIncognito @Low @Dman1969 @StonedCold13
One reason I’m considering this is Finish uses both Amonial and Nitrate nitrogen, thinking it should help the famous Promix ph climb from them eating all the Nitrate nitrogen . Just looks more balanced to me….
I feel like I saw a conversation on this a few days ago?
Remember where?
Bam
I’m pretty elevated but @dbrn32 recently brought the “finish” up, and we discussed its usage briefly,
Typically it’s used in the last few weeks of flower. Your plan of attack sounds appropriate.
4/1.5/1 using finish in place of A?
That was it.
You are fast!
I would mix each separately in a gallon of water to see exactly what ppm each would contribute, but yes, Finish in place of A.
Not what a man wants to hear…. Lol
I knew you guys were chatting this up the other day. I was able to search “jacks finish” used advanced search for after Jan1. First one that popped up.
Sounds like a plan man. It’s gonna be trial an error there is a possibility of locking out micros… a magnesium deficiency could be involved, however you have more control over it with Epsom. The higher phosphorus and potassium are good for flowering but could lock out magnesium as they are directly competing with one another.
Racecar drivers don’t mind.
Exactly why I would mix each and test ppms. Thanks Brother, appreciate the input!
Drag racers don’t, endurance racers though……
I’ve used the finish in the past as well as the Bloom. I fed it weeks 6-9ish. I never noted any pros or cons. I did run a few plants from start to harvest with the 7-15-30, I was out of part A. Very similar to the 5-12-26 in comparison
Yes, just finding balance and monitoring. That whole mulders chart thing. The first go around could be a sacrificial round in finding what works. I’ve come up with a ton of ratios that “should” work, just breaking the mold is the hard part.
Edit
Jacks ratios are instilled for average use across the board. So there is defiantly room to play, the issue is finding support when you go to play.
Yes, the two are very close, main difference is the source of Nitrogen. A bit more of some micros, tad less on two, but my cal mag has iron, so that would bring that in line. I’ll give it a try on one or two side by side with 321 to see how it compares. Gotta get the clones finished and seed run in first! Thanks Brother, appreciate the reply and info.
Finish has a + amount of sulfur without mag, so finding that sweet spot should be an interesting challenge when kicking up p & k.
That was one of my concerns, adding Epsom is only going to increase the sulfur, but if it isn’t too much, mabey it will help terps and smells….mabey cal mag without Epsom. I’ll have to run the numbers when I’m not oiled down, not even gonna attempt math right now! Lol
