Jacks 15-5-20 Tap or Mega Crop 1 part complete.. Any opinions?

My fellow bud brethren, I’ve been running Jacks 15-5-20 Tap with Epsom salt, Silica, Hydroguard, and Tribus. It’s worked well so I ask this with hesitation… “But”, has anyone used Mega Crop? It’s a one part complete so I could eliminate some of the above and I’ve heard a few good things about it. Any feedback?

A few additional notes on my water source:
I run Jacks Tap due to the high calcium in my water (65.3mg/l). With an overall hardness of 283mg/l.
Mag 26 mg/l
Copper .75 ppm
Barium .09 ppm
Sodium 3.5 mg/l
Iron .38 mg/l
Manganese .06 mg/l
Zinc .03 mg/l

We don’t see a lot of megacrop users here. I know there has been a couple but nobody that’s still active and I can remember to put you in touch with, sorry.

I think you’ll find experiences vary a lot with different fertilizers and your best bet is to try for yourself if you’re curious enough. Sometimes good stuff in the wrong hands doesn’t look very successful and some people have enough knowledge that they can be successful with anything.

Great advice, thank you!

There’s a few of us on here running Mega Crop one part. I’m on my 2nd run with the 1st harvested and gotta say I’m very impressed with the results. Very simple and inexpensive. @Borderryan22 @StonedCold13 @Spudgunner are running it as well :love_you_gesture:

Thanks for the tag @OGIncognito. I’m running Mega Crop on both my indoor and outdoor plants, first run with it tho. So far I like it, plants are doing ok with it, maybe not as well as Advanced Nutrients I was running, but about 1/8 the cost. My indoor plants were flipped 9 weeks ago, outside ones look like they are in transition. I’ve also used the same company’s PK Booster during flower with the Mega Crop.
As soon as the tent empties out, I will be doing 4 in autopots in there running Mega Crop, that will give me a better gauge between the two…forgot to water one day and they got scarred for life, can’t blame that on the nute line!

I’m on my 1st outdoor run using MC on in ground plants, planted late :face_with_peeking_eye:
I’ll be using just MC on my indoors starting late September i hope.
See how the 1st run reacts and adjust or change from there :green_heart::metal:t2:
And I bought the $1 bags :joy::rofl::joy::rofl::sunglasses:
Been a die hard GH user with something always added, MC is stupid simple and hope I’m happy with the results. I’m not looking for Cup winning buds but I’m not happy with Mids either.

Yep, Mega Crop, what they said. Eeeeeeasy stuff. Almost no pH flux. Just takes another minute or two to mix up because it has some big chunks in it.

I’ve been really happy at how water soluble it is even with the Plan B bags I bought :person_shrugging:t2: But I’ve also only been mixing up a gallon at a time. Few shake shake shake, shake your jug up…and it’s done.
Now when I get to mixing 25-35 gallons at a time I might retract this statement :green_heart::metal:t2:

I mix up 5 gallons at a time, which needs just under a tablespoon of MC. While the bucket is filling I just add it in, almost stirred up by the time it’s full. Stir in some of the PK Booster (a half teaspoon), good to go for another 5 or 6 days on my flowering ladies!

Sweet, thanks buddy. In my head( ) I was thinking tablespoon per 5.
What is your source water EC and after mix EC? :green_heart::metal:t2:

Good question, never checked! Used to using Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect line, so have never bothered to check numbers…ever! Never checked that back in the '80’s when we were growing, never got into the habit of doing it now, either.
But last time our water was tested, it was rated the best/cleanest in Canada. Had a ppm of 47 or something. I feed them until they complain, then back off a bit. Seems to work!
