Like the title says. I tried the Mega Crop a couple of years ago and could not avoid massive pH fluctuations. Within hours it would be off by .5 or more. I’ll check my tap water numbers this evening, as we’ve moved since I last used MC.
Some of the ‘buds’ around here have had really great experiences and results with it, so I’m interested in what everybody else’s have been like…
Are you using it as a standalone fert?
How does you pH look after mixing and does it hold?
What kind of water are you using?
Are you adding calmag or silica?
Using pH Up/Down?
And what medium? (I’m in Roots Organics original)
I’ve loved my Jacks. I got it dialed in, but the busy life has me simplifying methods.
Let me know how your experience has been and if possible, a very shortened mixing/feeding process.
Mega Crop 1 here for outdoors in sunshine mix#4 (suppose to be close to same as promix) IIRC same company. Well water @ 450 ish ppm and 7.02-7.05 ph @ 1/2 to 3/4 strength, only added calmag once to 3 plants this yr showed a mag issue, mostly do not add anything until they start budding then I add Bud explosion once mixed PH drops to 6.8-6.7 add enough PH down to bring it into the 6.3-6.5 range, seems to be fairly steady for 2 hrs untill used.
I am very happy with it, indoors I use jacks does not seem leave so much residue build up in the res for autopots. Hope this is kind of info you are looking for.
Love MC1 for my application, so easy to scoop and mix 5 gallons in a couple minutes. I do run a tablespoon of cal mag per bucket on top of what’s in the MC1. I don’t care for it in a res as there is a good amount of deposits in it, prefer jacks there. I also ran their pk boost in flower. As long as I add the cal mag, no problems with PHing, my well water needs the bicarbonate to PH properly.
I use MC one part in Autopots and coco. In addition I use Yucca Wetting Solution, Armor Si, Calmag, and in flower Bud explosion. I have used MC for about 2 years now and have no real complaints. I also use RO water, my res will drift from 5.7 to 6.3 over a few days. I adjust periodically. MC seems relatively cheap as compared to some of the pricier options.
Sorry for the late response @Growdoc , been a heckuva long day. What kind of water are you using? And are you using tap, RO, or distilled? Or pulling hydrogen from the atmosphere to create your own?? Lol jk
MC1 and my well water mixes out at 1.6ec and 5.9 ph 9 times outta 10. I need to make a catch system for the drainage out of the mini split, that thing runs a steady stream in this humidity. Should be pure enough to store.
