It’s about that time to harvest

After all the great help on here, I’d first like to say thank you. (This is white widow auto flower grown indoors.) I’m at the time to harvest and I had a couple of questions. Should I cut each whole plant at the base or each of the branches individually? Should I also cut any leaves or just hang them as is until they’re all dried out? The plants are currently at their 48 hour darkness stage that I saw on some YouTube video. :man_shrugging:

Dealer’s choice largely.

I hang plants as close to whole as I’m comfortable.

Harvest → strip all the big fan leaves → bud wash → break apart massive colas → hang to dry in a cool, dark room → trim

Yup!

I prefer to wet trim as much as possible. Then maybe do a little cleanup when moving to cure. You can pretty much hang however you feel makes the most sense, just make sure buds have some air around them. If you get them resting on each other may be more prone to mold.

I’m not sure what bud wash is. I stopped feeding and did just tap water towards the last few weeks or so. I don’t recall when I read it was recommended. This is the beginning of week 16. I just took a couple of pictures.

I plan to hang and dry in the same tent. Since I killed the light 48 hours ago, the temps and humidity is perfect for drying. 70-75 degrees with about 40-50 humidity. I also have a small fan to move air. I will keep the charcoal circ fan going as well unless it’s not worth that much air flow.

I prefer 60f 60%rh, but hard to get perfect. You’ll want some air exchange and carbon filter will help with scent, but not so much that you dry them faster than need be.

Bud wash is basically rinsing buds of any contaminates picked up throughout grow. Cervantes method is probably most popular, you can find on YouTube if interested.

This new time grower part gets my anxiety levels up here towards the end more for some reason. Funny, the first video I YouTube is a “Lex Blazer” saying if you grow indoors, bud washing isn’t really needed unless you’re trying to grow something special. I appreciate your valuable information.

Off to the tent I go with gloves and rubbing alcohol pads for my four pairs of snips. It’s only 3 small plants but, there’s just me, myself, and I. Wish me luck!

Ha, good luck!

I wouldn’t automatically say that growing indoors doesn’t require a bud wash. Some of the nastiest stuff I’ve seen cane from indoor grows. But if your buds are clean there isn’t much sense in making them more clean. It’s just that bugs, mold, pet hair, and all kinds of other stuff still gets into weed grown indoors, and is not enjoyable to smoke. So most seem to recommend a quick rinsing.

Beautiful plant! Congrats on successful grow.
Whole plant or individual branches depends a lot on you drying conditions. A whole untrimmed plant will dry slower and rough-trimmed branches dry faster. The plant it’s self can affect your choice also. I have had plants be “leggy” and have had them so dense I had to cut the center out and dry like it was 2 plants. After a couple of cycles you should be able to find your own personal pace. Shoot for 7-10 days dry time.

Thank you so much! I did the harvest late last night/early morning. The cutting went to where it’s easy to hang each section. I just used zip ties

and loosely hung them as needed. I kept the carbon filter fan running and added a small 8” fan on the floor to move more air. It’s just enough to where the branches aren’t moving. Sheesh! That was a long morning!
