You know, over the years I’ve been using ILGM, I never once thought to return them or demand replacement. I guess I’m not that picky, but I know what it’s like to run a business where you’re moving product and not producing it.
ILGM can’t make any guarantees about stuff they don’t grow and do themselves. And who can look at a seed, that looks like every other seed, and tell whether it’s a dud or not? That person is going to have a very well-paying job waiting for them…
No, I don’t get really upset about that kind of thing, because in the grand scheme of things I’m really still making out. I don’t sell anything to anybody, and a mere eighth of an ounce here in Connecticut goes for $35. So if you think about it, if I have one seed that gets me 3/8 of an ounce, I’ve paid for all 10 or 20.
Now yes, I know, purists are going to say you’re saving money you didn’t spend, things like that… But if you look at it simply like this, it would be a good value to get anything.
They probably got a bad batch, or somehow the methods I’ve been using for years failed me for this one particular strain, who’s to say? And besides, there’s no doubt there’s a bunch of deadbeats out there that claim that everything they buy didn’t sprout, trying to rip off ILGM with refunds, free seeds, whatever. Let’s not live under the illusion that that doesn’t happen.
So I’d rather stay a loyal customer in good standing, then to start demanding all kinds of rebates and free seeds and coupons, etc. and try to represent the decent part, likely the majority, of the seed consumers out there.
It probably doesn’t matter, but I also have a medical card, and believe it or not I’m actually one of the people with the medical card who actually needs it and was asked to get one by my pain specialist (!). Imagine that! Someone who actually needed a medical card!
So while I respect the fact that that Avenue of recourse is available, and thank you for pointing that out in case others didn’t know, I think for now I’m pretty happy with my success rate over the years, and we’ll just chalk it up to ilgm reselling a batch that just didn’t come up. I have to buy and grow it because of the costs I mentioned above, so in the big scheme of things, I’ve got it pretty good compared to places where you still have to smuggle it, or people with true need are not allowed legally to get what they need for medicine.
If I make too big of a stink, it ultimately makes it harder on all of us, even though it might seem like a small gesture.
So yeah, bottom line, I’m not saying anything against ilgm, moderators. Everybody in any business that resells strives for consistency, and I respect the fact that you are out for what is best for the community, even though this new website fought drags me back to the '60s… (I’m sure it’s wonderful with the focus groups, I’m just hoping it doesn’t last long)
