Intake air and keeping light out

I use a 6 inch exhaust fan. 4 inch might not get the job done or either run the 4 inch wide open with a lot of noise.

AC-Infinity T6

Above step 5 it starts getting noisy.

I hate noise from the Vivosun 6-inch turbine (junk pile addition).

@DEEPDIVERDAVE I’ve been using the same Ipower brand Exhaust fan for about seven years. I did add a plug and play variable speed. 35 bucks.

I run a 6" tube with AC Raxial inline fan the tube on each side… On the end I have a blackout screen…out one lower round port holes. It’s controlled by a AC outlet controlled by an ACI 69Pro controller.

Works well.

Have both tents setup this way. Keeps bugs out as well.

A couple labrynth traps that I made out of foam board. These are easier to do for hard-wall. For soft wall, there’s nothing wrong with doing the hoses or other things. But you can also look at Jardins light trap air filter + flange kits. They include a cutout tool & I think are available in 6" & 8" sizes. Only issue I have is that they are a little expensive I think.

I’ve modded this labrynth a couple times already after building it. The first time to add a third baffle, & then I sectioned it to widen it for more flow.

Overhead not to scale. But that second & third 90 is where mine has chokepoint because it does actually get a little more narrow through there.

This one is underflowed for the exhaust fan in use, & could use more holes, & also could be extended out maybe twice as far as it is now, for more flow. But it works well enough to control temps in the cab, so I haven’t done anything about it yet.

I did seal up the light leaks around the panel…

There’s really no one i know of with more data on this subject then Dr Bruce Bugbee and heres what he has to say about it.

From my experience out of hundreds of plants (lots of them documented under my profile if anyone wants to see them) over the years with very few nanners ever and lots of light leaks.

Stress 100% can cause nanners but I’m not convinced light leaks cause anywhere near the stress people think, and scientific studys support this from what I’ve seen :man_shrugging:
