How do i keep light out of passive intakes?

My plants will be going to flower soon. With my tent running hotter then i want. How do i go about covering the intakes while maintaining air flow but avoiding light causing issues during the plants rest period. Unfortunately the tent is in me and the wifes bedroom so avoiding lights coming on at bad times is almost impossible

I shielded my intake with a box - you can cut a hole so the air can still get through but the box will block some of the light. :v:

If I didn’t know any better brother I’d say that was a little coonass ingenuity :rofl::rofl:

Do you have central air have you ever thought about running a duct from there to your grow tent

Negative pressure my ducting style fan pulls air out of my tent so what vents there are still pulls in fresh air

You can use a length of flex duct and bend it 90°

Great suggestion @beardless :muscle::100:

I have tried that the only issue is when the AC isnt running that temps go back up. Guess ill try 90 degrees ducting in each side passive intake feed one with a fan.

Sure i can only running it at a 5 of 10 currently only issue is that the warm air is essentialy just recycling in the room the exhaust ductwork has no where to go really. Currently im using it to cool my 2 power bricks for my lights that are on the outside top of the tent.

Use a piece of flex tighten up the pucker string an put a couple snake bends in it. I’ve never had a problem.:v::+1:

Here is away that maybe good for you ,do have a second inline fan and ducting if you u put ur ducting through one of the ducting holes on ur tent and you have that fan bring in colder air from outside of the tent that will help with drop temps plus it gives you more air flow

Here is a little redneck engineering for you. And I have a little fan under that box that blows air in too.

Can you mount the driver on the outside of tent…

Flexable hose with flat black spray paint inside?
I am using a box to house the T6 and shield light from above

I bought some black filter material and put that over the screens at the bottom of the tent.

Thanks for the idea

Get one of these, or similar and vent air outside.

Warning during flower fans run almost constantly in my experience. Might keep you awake if lights are on for temp and when lighys are off for venting humidity.

This will give you MUCH better control over temp inside tent.

Thanks again. So far ive made a few changes with fans ductwork running from Ac vent and have temps doing better. Just need to filter the light from ductwork.

Put a 3ft piece of ductwork in it and let it hand straight down about a ft off the floor… that won’t eliminate all of the light but it won’t let much in… just a suggestion… gl
