Ah.

Yeah. You can’t compare growth rates between coco and soil. Soil is better for a long-term grow in my opinion. Retains moisture better and provides nutrients on its own, where coco is inert and ready for amendments or nutrients to be added. Coco is a hydroponic medium, where soil is not. Hydroponics inherently have a better growth rate.

Cause im thinking either the soil mite be the problem or its the genetics these are 420 fast buds genetics and im used to using dark wizard genetics which grow fast

Soil just isn’t comparable to coco. They aren’t the same medium and won’t have the same growth rates. Soil does well. A good soil will produce better plants than Miracle Grow. But no soil will produce what coco does, IMHO.

I think i will be definitely going back to coco peat and perlite mix with worm castings and dry amendments next time and i will probably be doing a outdoor grow next spring aswell

Honestly inside the house grows u don’t need clover and stuff. That just robs away some of the nutrients and or water from the plant.

Try canna coco coir if u can set it. U will not be disappointed at all. It’s great stuff. Don’t need any perlite or anything for it. Expand plant and go to town.

Just need to watr more often right ?

In coco yes when small every other day or so and as they grow bigger gets to be a daily watering thing. Growth rate is remarkable with coco as long as u keep up coco kills soil grows imo

The medium im using isnt my normal medium that i use ,i had my coco mix go all moldy and it smelt like i was keeping deep fish or something in there ,cause what happened was i put my coco mix away i reamended the mix and i put it away with the worms in it and for some reason my worms died and made the mix go moldy and it stunk to the high heavens i couldn’t use it so i threw it away and im using a new soil

I’m surprised you don’t make your own blend @Aussie_autos. I figure with the price they’re asking for some of the premium bagged soils, I could do a little better putting it together myself and with better quality ingredients to boot.

I just use a classic potting mix ratio:

60% peat/coco
30% compost
10% aeration
1 scoop of home soil (mineral inputs, rock dust etc)
Organic fertilizers

If you can “cook” it for a period of time it’s even better. Add some worms and it’s better still. (Gotta keep ‘em alive tho)

My last grow that I entered in BOM, all I did was water throughout flower. No mixing nutes, watering to runoff, checking ppm, I didn’t even pH the water in or out (reverse osmosis). She ran out of calcium week 9 flower, and I blame the coco. Sphagnum peat moss would have been a better choice than coco, because you can load it up with more calcium due to its acidity (lime is calcium carbonate CaCO3 2-)

The stuff im using is richgro marvel black premium soil it high in potassium and phosphorus and calcium and nitrogen its a nice dark soil i will see how it goes the plants seem to be getting up and going now ,and also ive done my mix with my dry amendments aswell so yah they should start to take off ,
