Hi all, I’m growing 2 out of 3 strains of the Persian Mix offered by ILGM (the Hindu Kush and the Pure Indica). When I was researching the strains I didn’t come up with many grows, so I figured I’d add my experience for anyone interested…!
This grow is taking place in my attic in a 4x4 tent. The temps will be an issue, it has hit 95ish on a few occasions. Thus far the girls are taking the hot days in stride. It did slow them down a bit initially (in the seedling stage we had a heat wave)…
I’m coming up on close to a month in, will catch up to the present day and add info as we go

4x4 tent setup, 2x Bloom Plus BP-2500 lights, 2x 5g buckets outfitted with the Grow Bucket setups, basic tower fan, and 4” carbon filter exhaust (which I’ll be upgrading along the way)…

First up is the Hindu Kush, I tried something new and planted the seed into a half solo cup so it’d fit into the foil pans I was using for all my garden seeds. Big mistake, after 2 days it was very leggy and touching the top of the lid. Tried supporting it with an old stem, ultimately replanted it into a full size solo cup and buried most of the leggy stalk. You can see in the one photo how the rootlet grew down and then back up out of the soil. Anyway it all got buried in Happy Frog soil and has been doing pretty good…
Second up is the Pure Indica. This was a replacement seed that ILGM got out to me after I had a few not pop. They replaced them all which was cool It’s a week behind the Hindu Kush, it’s been smooth sailing other than the heat stalling its initial growth spurt for a few days…

Up to date pics, the Pure Indica is -2 weeks old, and the Hindu Kush is ~3 weeks old… I’ll be re-potting one day this week…

Great strains did all three last yr outdoors, Hindi was the heavy hitter,Pure Indica was good and simple ,Afghan was a PIA with mold late in season, but they all serve the purpose and we are pleased with them all, will do them indoor/tent next.

I have 2 going in a 4 by 4, just starting week 4 of flower. ILGM AK 47 and Bubblegum. Grew autos first 2 grows so decided time to try photos. So far so good. And a Mephisto Walter White auto that is near done.

Re-potting day.! The girls made the move into their permanent homes: 5g grobuckets filled with Happy Frog soil. Sprinkled some rooting powder into the holes and watered them as well. Adjusted the height of the light and dialed in the DLI…

*I also installed small spigots in the buckets to control where the runoff goes. Would rather collect it in a cup than let it run down the side of the bucket onto the floor of the tent.!
A couple days after re-potting and turning the light up… This was 2 hours before lights out, looking tired…

A couple days later after adjusting the light (raised it about 6”), and a heavy watering (I let them go pretty dry), and the girls have perked up…
Seems to have taken the transplant nicely. Looking good

The heat wave is affecting the tent temps, it hit nearly 100… The top leaves were taco shaped but it was remedied by increasing airflow and backing off on the light. Did some minor defoliation, removed the 1st node on each. Not sure if I’m going to do any training or just let them grow freely. I did dig out the scrog nets just in case though…
This was 1 week later, the Pure Indica was looking healthy and starting to take off a bit. I removed the bottom 2 nodes as they were very small and in the dark down there… The Hindu was really bushy, I couldn’t keep my hands off and ended up topping and doing a fair amount of pruning. I opened up the inside and starting shaping it…
