ILGM autoflower seeds not germinating

I bought the 15 seed Autoflower variety pack. It took quite a while to arrive in the frigid upper Midwest.
Germinating Process: 24 hr in distilled water at 70 degrees in dark. After that, moistened paper towel in a dark, warm environment.
Six days later, there is still no sign of life in all 3 seeds…and I have 12 more seeds. Are they all duds?
Any suggestions on how to coax these ladies to open up?

I’m not a pro but for me , I just soak them until They pop. Usually takes 1 day. After they open, its straight into the coco.

Many add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water during the initial soak, most seem to think it helps. Tap water is ok for initial soaking.

Ive seen where it’s been suggested roughing up the surface of the seed with a little sand paper before soaking can help.

You said you kept your seedlings warm which is real important especially in the winter. 75-80 degrees would be best.

Are you keeping the moist paper towel in a plastic bag to make sure they stay moist? Drying out even once will kill them.

I’m not sure how seeds sprout in nature with all the stuff we do to help them along.

Just trying to hit all the bases, it seems you are doing a good job.

I have been at this only a year, but have germinated every seed so far. Nothing fancy, no fancy temps, waters etc. Tap water on a couple of paper towels on a small plate. Get them good and wet, fold over and stick the plate in a drawer in my study. Check it a couple of times a day to insure they are wet, add water as needed. By day 3 they go in Coco usually with a nice long tail.

not sure what area of the country you are from , but since its winter here, i would just make sure that that nice drawer isnt too chilly. lots of folks will put them on top of a cable box, or something that stays just a tad warm to “coax them”. a little hydrogen peroxide can make a dff too.
i have had most of my seeds pop over night or next day, but i had one take 5 days and one 7. (i have all mine on a seedling heat mat.
Good luck

Well, I did say a drawer in my study, so I would presume I want to be warm as well as the seeds. The house stays around 69 in the winter, they seem happy, but I get your point. They like warmth, so whatever works is fine, my point being lots of folks here go through all these intricate procedures to germinate, and some fail. it is a seed after all, and a weed, lol.

I’m no expert new grower but what worked for me was adding a little bit of heat/warmth to the seeds whether your soaking them in water or placing them in the soaked paper towel. If unable to get a heating pad try placing the container their in or bottle on or near a TV ,gaming console, pc most these devices when powered for short amount of time emit heat.
