I recall Watkins Glen and Saratoga, NY being good areas in the 70’s but I haven’t been to either of those locales in close to 40 years except for a Phish reunion show at SPAC in the mid 2000’s

Haven’t gone to the Whites since MMJ legalized in MA and ME 
However I’ve done tons of mountain climbing in NY VT NH ME so of anyone needs like beta on places to camp, just ask!
