Alright, I’ll start off by saying that this is my first grow and I’m not sure what to expect so I’m turning to you guys for help! I noticed a few days ago that the low leafs on one plant were turning yellow. Then these brownish spots are started appearing all around the plant a few days later and its making me concerned. The leafs are turning on the ends a little bit. I’m just using the Fox Farms Soil and I’m watering with some Maxigrow’s Liquid seaweed thats 0-0-1 NPK. It is PH’d to 6.6-6.8 every time. I’m growing 3 plants. 1 of them is completely fine with no signs, the other two are showing them. I water about every 3 days or so. Also! I’m not sure when I should transplant as I was going to FIM a couple of the plants tomorrow. If you can answer my questions that would be very appreciated! Thank You!

I was thinking on starting the plants with Botanicare PURE BLEND PRO Grow since I thought it might have been a nitrogen problem… Idk… Thats why I’m here. Lol

I don’t know what is her problem but I know that… It’s ready for a new home… So you need to repot her in a bigger pot.
Do you feed her? If yes Whit what?
And the runoff you measure after you water her.

@lcy

How old are these plants? They really need to be transplanted to a bigger pot.
What kind of lights are you using? How high are they above the plants?

The plant are 3 weeks old from seed. I was planning on transplanting today or tomorrow to a 3 gallon pot and into my grow tent with a 600w meizhi light. They have been under two 100w equivalent cfl light bulbs for now. I’m getting my meizhi light in today. I hope it works right out of the box

@Icy
I think they are starting to get root bound. Get them into the new pots and wait a few days and see how they respond.

I would get them into bigger pots as others have suggested It might just need to stretch its legs a bit.
It sounds like you have your PH where you want it to be for that type of soil so it might just be that it is getting a little hungry for some Veg nutrients since you notes that some of your lower leafs are turning yellow.

@Icy I’m with @Rugar89 and @Jmesser80 you need to transplant them to larger pot 5 gal pot is perfect for a indoor grow
You are most likely getting root bound in the small pots
Most of us use soft pots as well because they prevent the plants from getting root bound
I wouldn’t add veg nutes till you get them into bigger pots and see how they react
The ffof soil should support your girls till flower although I do start feeding as soon as the round feeder leaves fall of my self
Happy growing tag me if you need anything else
Welcome to the forum and happy growing Icy

Alright! I’ll get some bigger pots today and transplant them. I have some left over Pro-Mix and Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Do you think I could mix them together and it wouldn’t be a problem? I’ll give you guys an update on how the plants hold up. Thanks Everyone

You probably can mix them only thing I would worry about is ph of the different soils ? I suggest you mix a small batch and do a ph soil test
@Hogmaster do you have any thoughts on this matter sir

Transplant to bigger pot

Ahh! I dont have a PH tester for soil. Is there a way I can do it without one? also, how much is one?

Update: Plants were transferred in 3.8 gallon nursery pots… biggest i could find at the store, and are now under the meizhi 600w light

@lcy do you have a ph tester at all ?
If not you can get o digital ph meter on Amazon for about 20$ they have a set that comes with a tds meter as well for about 25$ and both are a must
Stay away from the dual probe soil meters they don’t work for ph readings like they claim :+1:
@Bob31 can we get a picture of link posted for a inexpensive ph meter lol thanks buddy

I have a PH tester but I dont have a TDS. Is it really needed?

You going to need one eventually tds meter
Ok good you have a ph meter so take some of the soil mix put in cup and add enough water to make a slurry
Then let it sit for 15/20 min strain slurry mix and read ph level this will tell you soil ph my friend

You aren’t talking about a pronged soil tester are you?

This is a pH meter, for testing the water @Icy

These are just so you know what we are talking about.

Yeah, I have the PH meter and the PH Up and Down. I’ll do the Soil test when I wake up later today that Country recommended and let you guys know. The browning and crinkling on my 1st plant has gotten worse. Like bottom leafs turned, then the top, now I have brow spots on a few more leafs of my plant. Though, I did just transplant into FFOF soil so Idk what to think. I did put some MYKOS on when I transplanted. I really want to top my plants just since its my first time growing… I wasn’t sure if I should because the condition my plants are in… =(

It sounds like your plant is stressed. i wouldn’t stress her anymore or she’s gonna go in the wrong direction on you. @Icy

They got new soil, more room, a new led light to grow under. That’s a lot for one day, like moving into a college dorm. I’d let em adjust for a few days before topping. I didn’t see what you are feeding them tho, must have missed it.
