I’m at a loss …

First I would like to reiterate that these are auto flowers and my understanding is that they will require less nutrient that photoperiod so in early flower I’m under the impression we should be shooting for 750-950 ppm and a bit more as flower progresses with the appropriate nutrients.
The last runoff was done on 7-25
And cal mag @ 5 ml/ gallon is provided ( not to run off but just regular feeding) one time since.

2-14 would indicate 14th seed stuffed in dirt in 2022.

:point_up_2: as in July 25th? Every feed or watering cycle should be to run off. It’ll rinse the salts away from the previous feeding :love_you_gesture:

Yes agree with og. You must water to good runoff, around 15 to 20% of what you put in…comes out. Using ff its a must

:point_up_2: DEFINITELY :love_you_gesture:

This is why I switched to Jack’s after using FF Trio for 3 years. The Trio works just fine for nutrients, but the flushes and trying to manage pH once in flower are a PITA.

Could not agree more @MidwestGuy. My first run with it as well…so far im just loving it. Love that tap comes out right at 6.5 with no phing. Feeds are 1100 to 1200 tds and they dont mind.

So when you say 1100 ,is that reducing run off total by what your putting in? Or do you run off w/ Ro?

So when calculating content of run off do you reduce the total ppm by what you’re putting in?
That is not what I’ve been doing.
I have always used the sum total as measured.(ppm)and if it was in excess of what I put in I would lower my next feeding so as not feed excessively.
Am I correctly calculating or am I sabotaging myself?

More than 300 coming out than your input could be a salt accumulation in the root zone. Under this condition is when you would water only, soil will naturally have a higher EC/PPM than coco or hydro due to the soil make up. Best advice I can give you is keeping a journal of feed and water days with run off numbers. Ideal soil PPMS in flower would be 1000-1400 :love_you_gesture: alternate feed and water cycles

@jorkvilleyoe im going to tag an OG to help explain this a little more, I’m at work and swamped @PurpNGold74 need a little help Brother :love_you_gesture:

Ive been swamped myself. Tried to catch up between jobs but the date thing thru me off completely.

Maybe i could be more help if there was a specific question.

Runoffs are tricky. The way i read them is…

Original soil runoff from last feed - lets say 600 ppms
Add 400 ppm solution 2 days later, runoff is 800 ppms
That means they ‘ate’ around 200 ppms worth in two days. That or u rinsed away a bit. Probably a bit of both.

If by next feeding u go up to 1000 ppm runoff, ur trending up and they arent eating everything ur giving them. In this situation u doublecheck pH and if its in range, u lower the ppm of the feed

The results are in.
I fed all 5 plants a FF Trio 60% solution to run off and the following results are imo typical but what do I know.
My solution measured 6.6/1.70/850

The following format is utilized.
Plant #:ph/ec/ppm .

2-14:6.6/2.01/1005
2-15:6.2/1.92/960
2-17:6.3/1.48/740
2-18:6.3/4.03/2015
2-19:6.6/2.90/1450

Sooooo?looks like I have some plant specific nutrient mixing to do.
What do you ladies/gentlemen have to say?

Not bad Growmie, PH is at the bottom of the range, keep watering or feeding at 6.8. The 1st 2 plants PPMs look good, 3rd a little low. The last 2 I would water only at 6.8 the next round :love_you_gesture:

Yup. A lil selective nutrient mixing never hurt nobody but time. I actually prefer feeding like that. Just have to be vigilant with the documentation

So I am still a bit confused on the ec necessary for flower. I was under the understanding that in early mid flower (day 57) run off should be around 6.5 -6.8/ 1.8- 2.2/ 900-1100.
Am I accurately understanding the needs of my flowering cannabis plant?

Pretty spot on. I shoot for 6.5 to 6.8 in flower and maintain a runoff PPM of ~1,000. I push PPM a little harder if the plant can take it, but I confess my current PPM is about 850. I need to work on that over the next couple of feedings.

The guy above me hit the nail on the head.

Id like to add that its just a ballpark figure. Your nutrient brand, lighting, plant strain, and even the phenotype of the strain all make a difference.
