Soil grow
Bruce Banner Auto ILGM
mid flower (probably)
Problem : spots on some leaves
started adding calmagic 2 waterings ago just in case it’s a simple Ca+ deficiency
pH going in with water, water +food(general hydro flora nova grow, and bloom , recently) is pH 6.5 - 6.7
pH in pan day after watering is 5.6.
Suggestions? I’m 8 weeks into a grow and cannot easily amend the whole 5 gallon bucket of soil. Thanks in advance!
As said already it looks to be a cal mag issue. Depending on your medium some like more than others. My ladies I just threw into flower were getting 30 ml per 5 gal mix and still they want more but thats usually the characteristics of growing in coco that they always want more cal mag
Thanks Bigcat420 I appreciate your input. SO in soil, how long until the calmag (38 mL per 5 gal) starts to “right the ship” ? Should I be inputting above 6.6 when I water or food to offset the 5.6 in the runoff? I know soil can take a while but I’m a worry wart and don’t want to ruin my first grow with only a week or two to go… An ideas on that from the looks of my plant, BTW? Thanks again for the input.
Honestly I wish I could help more but I’ve only grown in coco. Search some soil growers and tag them and they can help you as most my knowledge is coco based. I hope you find some use for those pictures I refer to them anytime I have an issue
Hey man I might be wrong, probably am that looks like phosphorus to me, more then calcium or magnesium. All my cal-mag issues more of a rust color, those spots look much darker. Getting into pre flower, I’m agree with above think phosphorus, need more Flower Power maybe ? Best of luck
@Stonedrus THANK YOU ! I am not supplementing anything other than General hydroponics. For 4-5 weeks I left them alone in a combination of happy frogg on top and ocean forest on bottom. then a couple feedings with GH Flora Nove Grow and then 3 feedings with Flora nova bloom.
I don’t know even where to begin with adding phosphorous?!?! when how and how much? Soil grow don’t forget. Thanks all can we tag more people who know leaf diagnosis? it’s getting to the wire and I’m really apprehensive about messing this up!!!
It looks like you are almost 3.5 weeks in flower. The impacted leaves will not recover and will probably get worse, but wait until they are unusable for photosynthesis before removing them, about 2 weeks from now. I would add a bloom booster with a high P number at the recommended instructions, and then monitor the new growth. I use monopotassium phosphate as my additive, but again only as directed and every other feeding.
@Stonedrus thanks so much. so, I started with calmag and was told somewhere to go easy on the nitrogen during flower (right or wrong , whatever…) so He sold me some "cutting edge solutions - BLOOM 0-6-5 and my first feeding with that was two days ago.
questions if you dont mind:
per your statement 3.5 weeks in flower, how much longer can I expect?
I switched from the general hyrdo nutrients to that bloom specifically, is that the right thing to do? I didn’t ADD it to the regimen just switched. Is that enough P? how will I know? it’s affecting almost all my leaves at this point. Is it going to kill my plants or effect the outcome in any way?
If I want to also use monopotasium phosphate how do I go about that?
Sorry lots of questions I appreciate your time. If there’s a multimedia link you can point me to that would answer these it might be easier on you! thanks so much.
If you are on a 12/12 cycle then about 6 weeks more. You still need N during flower, just not as much. Bruce Bugbee recommends a base of 20-10-20, for veg and most of flower, while a booster of around 10-30-20 is used in the first month of flower. I use Jacks 321 as my base and add amendments like MPK, silica, fulvic acid, bacteria etc., as needed.
The leaves are being sacrificed for their potassium, so it is important to be adding it at the root level from this point forward. It may impact yield, but I have normally started my defoliation by now and those leaves would not be there anyway.
I would not use MPK for yours as it does not have any nitrogen. The easiest solution would be a basic bloom fert of about 10-30-20, from your local hydro or hardware store. used as directed
so is the bloom fertilizer I’m using 0-6-5 going to do it, you think? there’s no store around here so I cant really switch to jacks right now and I’d have to go looking for monopotassium phosphate somwhere … any thoughts you have I’im all ears…
Your run off ph will usually be lower than your input ph. Are you measuring your TDS/ppms of your water/feed before you feed them? Also what are your run off TDS/ppms? If you are 8 weeks in from when seeds broke ground you have anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks left to go. By the looks of things I would guess you are about 4-weeks into flower ?
This is the MPK I use, but I also use Jack’s 321 and only use the MPK for the first 2 weeks of flower and I also alter my 321 to 2/2.7/2 and add in 1.2 of MPK
I do not have that technology, nor do I understand it yet. I am likely going to but, the budget. I have a blue lab pH pen. So far. My first grow…
the brochure said 10 weeks to harvest guranteed, lol. It’s ILGM BB Auto. I would say 4 weeks is a good guess, maybe 3+ I don’t know what flower looks like, didn’t know when it started, so I knew for sure about 2 weeks ago. They popped dirt Sept 8 or so.
I tried to keep it really simple so I did FoxFarms soil for 4-5 weeks then General Hydroponics two stage. I’'m going to use jacks and MPK next time so thanks for the picture.
My daughter graduated from high school and went to college so now I can grow inside. I wanted 4 plants for some bud to smoke and early learning curve I’m going to kick into high gear now with the next grow… Scrog, supercropping, stay tune.
for now I want to fix my plants. Keep the recommendations coming. I really want to know exactly what to do next water, in 2 days!!! thanks all so much
is the bloom 0-6-5 going to re- balance my P in my plants? I really dont understand a lot of this… really just need to know put ______ in water and fill to slow runoff if thats possible. Plus i’m a little baked from the cuttings I dried and fried.lol
