Ok…so i turned off the lights after 8 weeks of flower…its been 2 day since…can i turn the lights back on and give them some water and let them go for another week or so?
Sure. In life there are plenty of overcast gloomy days in the life of outdoor plants.
Your robbing energy from them by turning lights off, it does nothing for the plants, same with flushing….
You’re checking the trichomes as well?
Thanks for the info…i stressed my plants out too much and my plants have seeds now. Alot of them i think them hermaphrodited pr something…im not doing tgat next time…im just goung to cut when they are ready. But i will gice them a few more weeks flower. Thanks again
Yea… u were right…i stresssd my plants too much bu turning off the lights and they pollinated themselves and grew seeds. Sux but leasson learned. This my first grow…i have a few good buds but not much. Thanks for the info.
Yes i was checking the tricomes but kept second guessing myself. Learning experience for sure…my next grow will be better… thanks
Good deal. No worries my friend. We’re all learning every day in a world that always changing.
Why did you turn the lights off for 2 days?
When flowering you want the plants to have a steady day/ night cycle. Interrupting that cycle by having a 2 day blackout isn’t good for them.
If they have seeds in the flowers, they hermied a while back because it takes about 6-8 weeks for the seeds to develop in the flower.
The flowering period starts after the 2 week flip from long days to long nights. If you flipped the plant 8 weeks ago, they are only 6 weeks into flowering. If you flipped them 10 weeks ago, they are 8 weeks into flowering.
Ya…idk…i saw multiple videos where people put the plant in complete darkness before you harvest to increase tricome production…that 2 week thing ive never heard of…i thought flower starts when u flip light schedule…but what do i know…this was my first grow…learned what not to do i guess…thanks for the info.
I never saw the seeds till after i cut tge lights off…dont know when they started…i thought it was the stress of being in darkness that long…but now im not sure…ill keep trying.
Can we see some pictures of what you have going on?
The 2 week flip for plants is where they change their growth from producing leaves to producing flowers. It takes about 2 weeks (give or take a couple of days) for this to occur and for the plant to develop the hormones needed to produce flowers. Once the hormones are there the plant will produce the flowers.
When feeding plants you want to start increasing the potassium about 1 month before flipping so the plant has lots of potassium to produce the flowers. Plants primarily use nitrogen for leaves and stems, phosphorus for roots, and potassium for fruits and flowers. They use these nutrients for other things too but their main role is for leaves, roots or flowers.
Ok…ill keep that in mind…thabks for tge info
long time ago. You just didnt notice them as they are covered. The rest have you covered on trichome production requiring energy. Flushing is a choice. Doenst work in MY opinion but i never flush for any reason with my grow style and nutrients.
You are in good hands.
I already cut it down and got rid of the buds full of seeds…even found polin sacs…i have some buds left…some do have seeds but not like the other bids which were all seeds… they are hang drying…ill see if i can get some pics later on and post them.
Ya…im not flushing or putting in darkness before harvest anymore. Ibdont know how i missed them…i feel like i would have seen them…i guess not…i was literally chechinkg on them every other day if not daily…especially during flower…dont know where i went wrong…but like i said im learning what not to do next time. Thanks for rhe info
Man I have had hermies in a full tent I totally missed. Or nanners hidden low in plant open. Unless I am looking for it I just miss seeds forming low. Stress it not. Will still be fire smoke. The seeds I would toss. Unstable genetics and not worth the aggravation.
If you check the plants during flowering, do it when the lights are on. Some people have had plants hermie because they checked them after dark, using a flashlight. The plants were exposed to light for several minutes and it caused them to develop pollen and fertilize the female flowers.
The seeds aren’t easy to see until they are mature and start popping out of the flowers. You can smoke the flowers they just have less THC than unfertilized flowers.
Wow, i read your comment and my heart sank… i think i did that once or twice…could have been that…see im learning what not to do. Thanks for the info sir!!
