I don't think Al Gore has any friends. Autoflower grow, start to finish

Yes indeed, they were a phenomenally unique band, and we were also a pretty unique fan base. There will never be anything like them ever again, but we have the music they made for the rest of our lives.

Their music has been the most stable presence in my entire life. Loved ones pass on, relationships end, friends move away, material things get lost or broken, bla bla bla, but nobody can ever take away the music!!!

I’d like to hang about and watch you work your magic. :+1:t2::magic_wand:

I would love to follow along. Grow is looking good.
Do you prefer autos over photos since you have switched? I have never done autos but thought about trying them. I see some folks get some pretty good yeilds from the autos.

It’s not so much that I like autos better than photos, I love them both, but I’ve spent a few years now fine tuning my grow spaces and techniques specifically for autos. I won’t say I’d never go back to growing photos, but I doubt it, and certainly not anytime in the near future.

Not worrying about light leaks is one big advantage to autos, and not having that concern makes it much easier to keep the airflow into tents at a proper level. Back when I grew photos I went to great lengths to seal up any spots where light could get in. I built plenums around air intake ports, bent flexible ducting into S shapes, and anything else I could think of, but all those efforts to block light also slow down air movement and reduce the CFM’s the exhaust fans can push out. Now I have no concerns about minor light leaks and I’m moving the maximum amount of air possible with my fans.

Amen my friend,Amen… I completely agree with your whole statement. Music these days for me just doesn’t have it. I don’t care what the younger crowds say. Music now just seems a little too angry for me not that I don’t mind heavy metal (Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica Van Halen etc) on occasion, depending on how I feel however, now you can’t even understand the guy on the mic, screaming into a microphone and the music is just over the top hard-core ridiculous with seven string guitars, because you know, you need that one extra string😉… and all these so-called “Popstars” what a Flippin joke all of them are🙄 I checked out on rock radio stations around Detroit long long ago, I just stick with playlists from YouTube or my CD collection which once in a while I have to replace because I scratch the living hell out of them from playing & mistreatment.TLK

That is “exactly” what sold me on autoflowers. I would potentially have 4 months out of the year that I 100% could not dial my tent in and need to crack vents and let light in that would transgender confuse  my photos.

Being able to leave the zipper open on the door for extra air flow dials my tent in so perfectly. By the way for your ladies under 2 weeks they are looking strong and healthy.

@Cap_Ron , looking good already. What indicators do you use to determine if they’re thirsty?

Thank you @Fishyswaw, I go by the weight of the solo cup. If it feels like I have a drink in my hand, they’re not ready. If it feels like I need a refill, so do they, lol.

So it’s all by weight not anything visual, which would be a stressor on the youngins. Got it.

So everyone got transplanted last night. This is how they looked at lights on.

The main thing with transplanting autos is being as gentle as possible, and not causing any more stress than necessary. Definitely don’t squeeze the cup, or turn it upside down to shake the rootball out. Just make snips along the top rim, and peel the cup slowly and carefully like a banana peel.

During the grow I prefer to use liquid Mycorrhizae products. Photosynthesis Plus by Microbe Life Hydroponics is my goto choice, but during the transplant I like to use a powder form like Azos or Mykos, or both. I wet the soil in the new pots, and sprinkle a generous amount of Azos in the transplant holes.

And all 8 back in the closet in their new pots!

I hope they turn out to be monsters!

Thank you @TimberLaddKush, I hope so too. Most of my autos in soil average 5 to 8 ounces per plant
They should be ready for topping and whatever other training I’m going to do in a couple of weeks. It looks like they didn’t even notice they were transplanted, lol. People talk about transplant shock all the time, but I don’t see it. To me it looks like all 8 of them have grown since last night.

Me too… I have to ask, what is the THC potency like with autoflower? I heard it’s not as potent as a photo.

I’m sure you’ll get more answers to this, but I grew a GG auto that was better than anything I’ve ever had before and I’ve been smoking 45 years. 8 oz on a 24 inch plant, took me a year to smoke her.

So I would say - no.

I don’t notice a difference between buds from autos and photos, and neither do any of my friends who I share my weed with. I’ve been a full time smoker for 35 years or so, and weed from my autos still gets me wrecked up.
A lot of the negativity towards autos comes from years ago when they truly were inferior to photoperiod plants. Back then, more of the Ruderalis traits remained in the genetics, and lot’s of autos were small and weak. Over the years breeders have done an incredible job of improving the genetics, and today, if your seeds are from a reputable breeder, there should be no Ruderalis influence at all except for the automatic bloom trigger.

Good to know Cap, quite frankly, you’re doing an incredible job yourself, as I’ve been watching this, and it’s like magic to where they are at this moment. I’m glad I stumbled across your grow from the beginning. after watching this from seedling to harvest, I think I might want to try autos just to see for myself how big I can grow them… definitely some pluses in regards to if you have holes in your tent or light leaks won’t bother them, which is most definitely a good thing. I will take your word on the potency Because you’re flippin wizard my friend and want to learn the secrets!:sunglasses:

Cool… yeah definitely hearing all kinds of up-and-down’s about auto flower. I have to see things to believe them. I don’t buy into talk too much, i’m more of a visual learner than verbal. Definitely want to hang on this page no doubt obviously cap’n knows what the hell he’s doing. Lucky me😃

Not much to update yet, but everyone’s doing well and training should start within a week or so. As long as everyone is looking healthy and growing at a good pace, I’m planning on topping all of them this grow.

Those are looking great at 2 weeks! Seems rhey are liking the extra leg room. How long does that soil carry them before you start with your base nutes?

I’m a bit unfamiliar with this soil, so I’m going to watch the runoff numbers closely, but I’m figuring between 2 and 3 weeks. I’m hoping they’ll be close enough to thirsty tonight so I can feed them and check it out, and if not it will be tomorrow night.
