I Don't Know Who To Believe Now

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.

“My gold leaf and northern lights seeds germedand doing well . When i flower I prune well to almost ends of branches my instructor said to continue to take leafs off that grow during bloom but I been reading to not do that ? That the buds need sugar from leaf during flower ?”

If I am growing an upright plant as opposed to a scrogged plant, I will leave most of the leaves unless they are specifically blocking light to an area. Plants need sun leaves to generate food and regulate heate and transpire water. The leaves will fall off on their own once the plant has consumed all their nutes during the maturation process. Removing all the leaves is not recommended in this scenario.

If you are growing a Scrog, you will create a lightproof canopy of leaves for the buds to grow out of. In this scenario I remove all branches and leaves below the canopy as they are not producing food only consuming it.

Yeah most never trim green leafs unless it is absolutely necessary

I agree with @Oldstoner and @Stomper I don’t trim any leafs off unless they are more than half dead. You can thin out your plants at the bottoms to make acceding easier for watering etc. but I usualy do that prior to changin the light cycle.

I’m with @Stomper @Oldstoner & @Jmesser80
Unless doing a scrog grow I leave all fan leaves on except when I prune the under canopy I’ll tuck them down to get more light into canopy but I don’t remove them unless they a reyellow and naturally dieing off
A picture would be nice so we can see exactly what you plants look like now :+1:
Welcome to Iglm

No lies being told here. Only true story’s

There is a style of growing I have read about but not seen discussed for a couple years now called lollipopping. I would have to look it up again but iirc it was clearing off every branch and leaving only the cola at the end.
