Hello I’m trying to get into hydroponic growing, but I think I’m having trouble with root rot. I’m currently using jacks 3–2-1 feed program with hydro guard but these roots still don’t look good. Any help on how to save these plants and prevent for the future would be amazing.
Info:
Lowe’s 5 gallon bucket painted black
Water temp is around 70
Lights are VIVOSUN 650W
I haven’t cleaned out my bucket in months I just add my neuts at 6.9 pH and I can’t stop her ass from growing
Pics of the whole plant would help.
Where exactly do you think root rot is at? I’m not seeing it on any of the root pics.
Here are a few examples of bad root rot.
Sorry I might just be over thinking then, so it’s ok that the roots are not completely white?I thought brown roots meant the start of rot.
Is the jacks 3,2,1 powder or liquid? Either way the lite browning could just be staining from the nutrients.
Also I would clean your bucket.
What is the water temp. A pic of the top of the plant would also be helpful.
I also do DWC im not a pro but I am going to tag @Retiredoldguy he helped me understand what I was doing, but honestly I don’t see any RR but a second opinion is best to get.
Nice healthy looking roots Grow Bro. You can always throw a frozen water bottle in the bucket to help with temps. When I run my aeroponic set up I’ll get res temps hitting 74-75. Keep using the Hydroguard and you can always mist clean the roots with a H2O2
Another tip I would drill a small hole in the top of the bucket so your not lifting your air stone when lifting top off.
in this image the top left looks suspicious… now right at where you keep your water level there will usually be some dark looking roots and this is normal in my DWC setup… just keep changing your nutrients weekly and use hydroguard or some root inoculant every time you add to the bucket…
Nice bubble action
