Root rot or nutrient stain?

Almost 4 weeks from clones, humbolt secrets nutes amd hydrogaurd bumped up everyweek to 500 ppm now roots seemed fine 1 week ago but now are sorta brown. Not slimy and no smell, ph is checked and adjusted daily if needed to 6.0-6.2. 8 gallons per bucket and proper nute measures and double chdck ppm. Changed water 2 times and sanitized buckets.

Whats your water temp.
How much air flow in res.
Light leaks. PH should be lower 5.8
Is it dwc or rdwc
Pictures of plant would help.

Yes humbolt secrets golden tree is a black thick liquid

This could explain the dark roots. The water temp needs to come down to 68-70 to prevent root rot. Are you using a root inoculator like Hydroguard and lower the water level to 2-3” below the net cup. I can’t get Hydroguard in my state and use Southern Ag :love_you_gesture:

Hey @CHutch that Hydroguard works wonders with the root zone. You can freeze a 2 liter cola bottle and drop in your rez once a day to lower your water temp. I use 5 gallon buckets for DWC and I top off my buckets daily or replace every two weeks or so. By chilling my water before topping off/replacing helps with lowering water down to around 68F.
Also I’m using General Hydroponics Flora series nutrients and they also turn my roots light brown.

I’ve Been extremely lucky with res and root chamber temps at 68-70 in my aeroponic setup plus the addition of Southern Ag to inoculate the roots :love_you_gesture:
