Any advantage in adding a Integra 62% pack in the jars to cure???
You can add them if you need to otherwise I don’t use them
It’s more (in my mind) to prevent it from drying too much too fast. My last grow dried to a crisp in 3 days. And I am concerned it ruined to crop…how dry to the buds actually get in a few days hanging in tent with no lights. Air temp around 80% (florida) RH around 50%. And at what RH do you put in jars??? Or what should the RH be as I jar??? I know there is no absolute answers just trying to get a rough idea for evaluation purposes.
I shoot for 65% in the jars.
It’s kinda funny, because wright after i posted i was talking with Roger and now I know more about them and plan on buying some myself would be a great addition to my grow
@garrigan62 interesting twist on the use of Boveda packs. After you learned more from Roger what % pack were you thinking would be best… I’m wondering… After person mentioned smaller bud drying in a few days I too want my weed to dry then cure - not overdo and try to re-humidify ![]()
I’m interested too ![]()
@neofirebird and @Gremmall,
I was thinking of getting as many of each. I don’t want to come up short when doing the most important part wright
I use the 62% 8 gram packs
1 per quart mason jar.
After drying and when jarring for the cure I place 1 pack 62% in each jar.
If for some reason you were to use a 1/2 gallon jar you may want to have 2 packs per jar. I leave them in there until empty and then place the pack in a jar sealed for later use. Eventually they lose their ability to release or absorb moisture and then you discard. I have read where some say they rejuvenate them to extend their use but I haven’t.
I also place a mini hygrometer in some of the jars so I can monitor the RH
Thank you sir for adding more info. I’ll be buying some here pretty so lol
Hi bro,
just some thoughts for when it is too warm (we have 35°C/95F at the moment) and the plants dry too fast, its not scientific it is just how I handle it:
harvest when the soil/medium is still wet (dont let it dry out before harvest)
hang the whole plant without removing any leaves.
hang it only for 2-3 days, then chop down to single branches and put it brown paper bag (in a dark as cool as possible place), put the paper bags in a big plastic bag and tie a knot so the moisture stays in and they can sweat. Check 1-2 times a day if everything is right. After 2-3 days of doing this remove all trimmables and jar the buds. After that you can do the usual: remoisture with leaves, lemon peel or something, boveda packs etc.
of course all numbers/times are only estimates, always use common sense, eyes, touch
@Cheesemaker thanks for the input!
You really don’t need to. You need to open them often to burp them anyway.
