Hi everyone,so i have started cutting my ro with tap at 50/50 to help with the ph swing but i was wondering about just using humic acid with straight ro or continuing
the 50/50 mix with humic acid if there’s really any benefit with it.Im currently feeding with jack 321 and if there is any benefits in general to using humic acid which brand do ya recommend… i was told bioag tm7 dry was good
Humic Acid is great for stabilizing pH, but it has to be added first. You need to be careful though, because many base nutrients and additives already have some Humic Acid in them, so you can end up with too much. Back when I used Fox Farms nutrients, I would add a quarter teaspoon of it per gallon before I mixed my solution. Without it, pH would go down as low as 4.0 after mixing everything, but with that little bit of it in there first, it would stay in the 5.8 to 6.0 range.
I haven’t used it for that in years now because I switched to Advanced Nutrients with the pH Perfect technology, so it’s not necessary.
you got work shop of all kinds of goodies
I have used the npk raw grow, full up, kelp and humic acid in the past with great success. The npk stuff really is top quality. The kelp is insanely beneficial to anything you put it on, especially seedlings. It can be added to your seed soak water also, the gibberellic acid it contains helps to give the ladies a strong start. You can also add full up in combination with the kelp in a foliar feed, it is like steroids for plants, no more than once a week or it will burn them up. I havent personally used this combination on cannabis, but it works wonders on Japanese black pines.
I tried the entire line of NPK products after I quit Fox Farm stuff, but ultimately I made the switch to Advanced Nutrients. I still use the NPK Silica instead of the AN Rhino Skin because I think it works better, and I also still use their Enzymes and Amino Acids. I didn’t care for the NPK base nutrients though. My plants definitely like the AN better.
Mr fulvic is safe for reservoirs or hand feeding and its a great blend of humic/fulvic and amino acids
It helps with ro ph swings?
Yes, but you only need a very small amount. I suggest you do a couple of trials before you mix a complete feeding.
You can take a couple of 1 gallon containers and fill them with your RO water. Leave one as is, and add between an 1/8 to a 1/4 teaspoon of Humic Acid to the other one. Then add the same amount of one of your nutrients to each container. You’ll see the pH will likely spike very low in the container without the Humic Acid, and the other one should be in the neighborhood of 6.0, give or take a bit.
Keep in mind that different nutrients have different effects on pH, but in general, most of what we use causes the pH of our solution to go down. So using the Humic Acid at the beginning eliminates the need to use pH up after mixing.
Thanks I’ll give that a shot
Idk how much the other options are but a bottle of diamond nectar by GH is under $20. 5ml per gallon during veg and 2.5 during flowering. It works fine. Dry nutes are usually cheaper, but I remember the NPk Raw yucca I use being a bit pricey. I’ve mixed nutes in the order suggested by Dr. Coco from the start and he says add the diamond nectar after base nutes and bloom boosters.
