Watering with just ph’d RO water?

I use RO water to mix my nutrients in and just use RO water that’s been ph in between feedings. I’ve been reading from different sites that one should not water with just plan ph RO water because it does not hold a ph? Then I’ve read the opposite and some say that it does not matter if watering with just RO water that’s been ph. My medium I use is Coco Loco which is more like a soil than coco coir. Can anyone clear this up for me? Is it ok to water with RO water that’s been ph in between feedings ?

Both, it doesnt hold a pH true. Not enough stuff in it to change pH of anything. So it becomes a solution in soil and becomes that pH.
I dont know the other if its OK to use alone though I do in soil. Soil and coco probably different answers

@Jaysittinback is correct RO and especially distilled water doesn’t have enough elements and minerals to pH properly.

I add silica to about 200ppm then pH to 7 then add other nutes one at a time then pH to your final desired pH.

My final pH is about 6.0 using Roots Organics Original and Jack’s 321.

I do water through my veg stage with just plain RO or distilled water… No pHing… But watch the runoff to know when to start adding nutes.
My solo cup to 1 gallon pots to 7 gallon fabric pots and watering to runoff… 10-20%…never had a problem. About 6-8 weeks.

Sorry… I do pH for waterings between feedings once I start feeding… But still add silica to 200ppm to pH correctly.

I use GH armor Si silica and it does not change my ppm. My RO water stays at 0 ppm. I may need to use more? Using 1/4 tsp per gallon at the moment. Do you use silica during feeding and when just watering? Thank you for the help.

I use a syringe… I think it usually ends up being about tablespoon or two.

For both.

I used to use just plain RO or distilled for watering… But pH can be funny… So i don’t take chances anymore.

In between feedings I also try to add a mix of recharge and Tribus Original… I’ll then pH that. No silica. Sometimes I’ll add some molasses to feed the microbes.
