My 2nd time making butter. How does it look? Smells and tastes like weed, lol.
Used the Crock Pot.
1lb unsalted
1 oz OG Kush
Decarb in oven for 45 min at 240
1Tble Leithin
1 cup water
Cooked for about 12 hours on low. Put it on warm for a few hours too. Crock pot never get’s above 209 degrees.
Looks ok I guess. Little green. Last batch worked used half for a plate of brownies.
I always re wash my butter to get more chrophyll out. Basically melt it back down with some water the the will stick back to the butter and leave the green behind
I dont use a crock pot but u can. Just mix up some water with it stir it up then put it in a big bowl and the butter will all come up to the top and leave all the water below
The only suggestion I’d make is to use coconut oil instead of butter. It presses out of the plant material much more easily, giving you a higher recovery of oil over butter.
It has a lower melting point than butter but solidifies at room temperature. Mine always goes in the freezer until I need it. Same recipe as with butter. The only real difference is coconut oil presses out of the plant material more thoroughly which effectively increases your overall yield.
I did cannabudder this way in a small crockpot for years. Sunflower lecithin is good: will aid the liver in THC uptake which increases potency. 1 cup of water added and cooked until water is almost gone (about 4 hours).
There will still be a perceptible ‘weed’ smell and taste but that’s due to the method used. This year I bought a Source Turbo to do QWET extractions for both dabs and edibles and I’m glad I did. The butter I do now is clean and almost scent free and I can control the dosage much better. The machine recovers the alcohol for reuse.
What machine is this. Im super interested in this. Im all about extracting and making oils or budder. I. Myself enjoy dabbing but if i can find a good edible hack so there is no smoking ill be golden.
