How many ways did I mess up here?

My very first grow. I am having trouble regulating temp/humidity in my Covert grow tent, small chamber. Put seeds in 7 days ago and they were doing great. Have made all kinds of beginner mistakes for my first grow, I think.

Today they look droopy. I initially did a cool mist humidifier but that dropped temp to 64 degrees. So did warm mist and now have 49% humidity but it looks all wet in there, and 71 deg temp. I am in New Mexico and started out with ambient humidity in the tent, prior to the humidifier, of 36%; it may be harder to keep the humidity up in there due to our dry climate. So now I think I overwatered? Do I keep the humidifier going? Also, and this is such a dumb thing, but I gave them silica Friday. Of course, an hour later found the forum here and read where I should not have added anything yet. They seemed okay with that. Planted in FF Happy Frog. (At least I somehow bungled along and didn’t use the Ocean I bought at the same time.)

For now running T5 lights 24/7 but understand now I cut them back to 18/6?

I bought a Brita Zero pitcher and got TDS to 0 (from 272 out of the tap). On Friday I am getting pH down for the water as our pH here is very alkaline. We are only on well water, for what it is worth.

I am so OCD and want them done right. The larger one to the front left is a bagseed from Grape Ape, started three days prior, and a test for me. My tent is 3X4, and only will fit 6 plants at most, so Grape Ape will be my garden outside “experiment”. The smaller seedling at the back came from a seed smaller than the rest. These are Wedding Cake that I got from ILGM. Out of 60 seeds (three strains) only one seed was small. (Yes, 60 seeds! What was I thinking? It was a great sale last month and made economical sense to do the 10+10. I will share seeds with friends and family. Not looking to grow enough to last this 55 year old until she is 140 years old. But figured I might need a lot for error).

Lordy, but these seedlings should have sent me a Mother’s Day card as much care and love they have got the last week. Maybe too much care and love according to my husband.

To sum up with questions:

  1. Should I turn off fan AND humidifier? Or leave both going?
  2. Right now just fan on due to possible overwatering but the humidity is only 49%. They were all fine this morning when I checked but several hours later noted a light leaf droop on some of them.
  3. Go to the 18/6 light schedule?
  4. Go smoke a bowl of Lamb’s Breath, take a deep breath, run 10 miles (I am ultra runner) and be eternally grateful I was given, by hubby, the gift of a grow tent and set up. (That is a given.)

Hi and welcome.

You’re going to be battling humidity until flowering, then you’ll be golden with that low rh.

Leave the fan on, but not blowing directly on the seedlings. Air movement is good, but they’re delicate right now and don’t need to be bent over by gusts.

Leave the humidifier on. Right now 80% rh is great.
Many people will pace a clear dome over the seedlings, ( solo cup, empty cut off soda bottle, inverted Tupperware). Spray the inside of the dome only. This will keep the humidity high right where you want it.

24/0 is a good schedule until they at least have 1-2 sets of their first leaves.

Correct. They need nothing but water at this point.

Thank you so much! I had ziplock bags quart bags over them and took them off this weekend. Face palm now! I will get those back on them. The fan is pointed upward and across at the roof part. I appreciate the input!
