Humidity Control inside Grow Tent!

Dear Growers,
I need some serious help with my plant. It is just sprouted out of the ground and I’m trying to control the humidity inside the grow tent and it’s staying around 42% right now humidity and I tried to use the humidifier and I’ll let it in the tent for I don’t know 10 minutes and I come back in 92% of the humidity so I need to know how to control the humidity in a small grow tent. I purchased a small humidifier. Need advice from the pros!! Please!

Get a humidifier that has the ability to set the humidity levels so turns off / on when it hits that range. I have one thats blue tooth so i can monitor it on my phone. Their not super expensive.

@Shattershard What humidifier are you using?

If it is on or off… You can use an inkbird humidity controller to keep the humidity stable.

Also you’ll want exhaust, if you don’t have one already… Plants need fresh air as well.

Look into AC infinity they have great stuff that is specifically designed for indoor cannabis cultivation… if you get an inkbird it only works with analog equipment. Just a pointer… so your not left at your wits end if you order the wrong equipment…what size grow area do you need one for?
You can use a bucket full of wet rags for now…soak them in hot water first.
If its a seedling you can mist the inside of a clear glass and set it over top…
Do you have an exaust fan with an intake open for fresh air circulation?

Cover the seedling with a clear dome for now until you get the humidifier squared away.
Used stuff from lettuce or anything that’s relatively clear like a Tupperware container and spray the plant leaves and inside of dome with water.
Read the instructions on the humidifier I’m sure there are set points on it.
Many products to help controls temps and humidity in tents.
I would shy away from humidifiers that won’t continue running where they were set if power is removed. So if yours is running and you unplug it what happens? They normally just turn back on and you have to set it again to run and at what setting.

As stated above AC infinity has some nice humidifiers with all the bells and whistles needed for doing what we are doing.

Great question  and is it mandatory to require a humidifier to get through the seedling phase, is my question too?

Does ground mean medium in pot?

I second the AC Infinity humidifiers. Can’t beat them for the price. Very versatile and with remote sensor it can be placed outside the tent, and set it for whatever humidity you want. The only downside is there is usually some lead time for shipping. In the meantime I would place the existing humidifier in front of the tents intake. This will give you better control of the tent’s humidity.

I dome if needed when small. My RH hovers at 40-55%always. The range for growth is big. Perfection is tough in some areas. I have learned to getem going and get good results with a lower humidity. Slow exhaust to minimal. Do not need much light since seedling. Thats 5% up or so humidity. Lights dry tent out. I would get lungroom up over a humidifier in tent if I could. Just me. I fought rh…gave up…grow without looking anymore since stable as heck. Once good veg you will get a huge rh jump.

How wet is the soil? Should be moist before planting, then only a couple drops of water after planted, domed and no more water.

Ive been putting just a few drops every day so i shouldnt do that ? I domed them today seeds cracked open in a shot glasses of water like 3 or 4 days ago

I wouldnt. Dont need to dome them til they sprout. Should be popping up a few days after you placed them in soil.

Is it ok to leave the light on em til they sprout

Yes, they will need light soon as they sprout. The most common thing we do is love them too much in this stage. Seedlings dont have roots yet, thus is why we dome them. They drink through their starter leaves, the cotyledons until roots are established. A wet soil will smother them starving them for oxygen. Once sprouted, water at least 2" away from the stalk to promote root development. Hope you see a sprout soon.

When I use a dome on seedlings. I like put them in a large container with a large dome that has the top louvered opening, and then put a hydrometer under the dome next to the plant. It can be very easy to overshoot humidity under a dome, if you don’t monitor it. I like to keep it at 70 to 80% to start off with. They grow so fast I find it unnecessary to keep transplanting up nowadays.

Gallon plastic clear water jug, works well as a dome.
