A lot of good info given here. For any auto though. I would give at least a 2x2 area for each. 4 in a 4x4 tent will be tight most of the time. I have had autos that would fill a 4x4 with just one plant. This would have filled my 3x3 easy. What medium you grow in makes the biggest difference for pot sizes I think. I use a 5 gallon pot as the smallest for top feeding. I am in coco. With a 3 gallon pot. You will be feeding twice a day in flower. In coco. Soil is different.
I personally look at what could happen as to what I think will happen. If the bottom was not in a scrog. It would have taken up even more room.
I will be tagging along though. I love auto grows.
Nice plants! i will be doing photos for my first couple of grows then switching to autos, i am going to be using coco as well and using high frequency fertigation for the watering.
Hey there. What kind of light did you use for a 4x4. I was thinking an AC Infinity 4x4 because their 3x3 is only 72" tall. I might need taller. The 4x4 is 80", which is a little better. I am just setting up my tent and lighting. So, Iām researching all the info I can. Thank you very much.
I think that will work best for you. You have full control then. One thing I forgot to mention. You might want to keep notes for every thing you do his grow. It will give you some thing to look back on for any changes you may want to do. or to repeat some thing. It helps me for when I change nutes. I use both Jacks and GH.
oh i am taking notes VERY WELL lol⦠my plan is to veg for 30 days and trellis then in that āareaā make the flip or when i have full 4x4 coverage. is 6 too many to run like that? As far as nutes and coco im going with canna coco.
A trellis net works good for both the lower and top net A normal photo will not flip till after week 4 or 5 even if you were on a 12/12 from start. If you want to fill a full 4x4 area. You are going to need to veg for a minimum of 8 weeks. I normally veg for 8 weeks to fill a 2x4 net. here is one I set the net about 6" off the plant. I managed to veg for 9 weeks and mostly fill the scrog. I am showing you this so you donāt cut your self short. I have the grow in here I think.
I have a 680s from growers choice. Itās 680w. I would not suggest going with them I would go HLG I have one and itās a much better light. Lights are just so expensive but it pays for itself.
So have you tried that humidifier. That AC Infinity humidifier is awesome! Itās like a rock concert when you turn that on. I love the fact I donāt have to fill it often. Nice set up.
Thank you!!! Iām researching everything now. I will admit, the lights are taking up a lot of time. It wouldnāt be such an effort except the cost of electricity is a big factor. Iāll get it figured out.
Ok so how long is you ārough projectionā (i know a lot of variables) to fill a 4x4 scrog with 6 photos. I honestly was thinking 30-45 days? i may not be on par due to lack of actual hands on experience just was a projection.
Well⦠everyone will have different opinions. Like others stated, the strains matter and also if you are planning to train them and how (lst, etc).
We are running 9 right now in 3 gallon pots.
2 Green Crack
2 Critical 2.0
2 Blackberry Moonrocks
1 Plushberry
1 Super Lemon Haze
1 Gorilla Purple
All started LST on day 15
Just experiment and do what works for you. We initially started with 6 pots but doubled up some seeds and felt bad for the ones where both sprouted so we transplanted them in their own pots day 10. (yes, you can transplant autos, thereās just a shorter window to do so) We also fimmed 2 of the double ones (green crack and critical) as an experiment.
We grow in a mix of buffered coco, perlite, worm castings, rice hulls and grow dots. We also water with recharge weekly and will start silica soon too. They may need extra cal mag towards the end too so we always have it ready.
They are 22 days old now and doing great. Best advice I can give you is keep notes and keep it simple. Often times we complicate things.
@anon94070952 is correct There are a lot of variables. First is how high your scrog would be off the plants. I do10" and it take me about 5 weeks to get into it. On average. And then at least 2 more to thread plants through it. I would plan for 7 weeks of veg. Once you flip. You can finish threading. I did 3 plants in a 5x2.5 tent. And one sativa really stretched. I just ran it into the scrog next to it. I try to keep things simple and fun.
Great thank you ALL! I will be under way here soon. I already have 3 of the 6 beans i need. I need to get my medium, nutes and last 3 bean selection and im FINALLY gonna be up and going.
Some thing to ponder. I have this pan here. I plant to do 4 pots in it. I can then just fill the pan about 1/2 inch. And bottom feed all at the same time. I do this with 24" saucers now. It makes feeding easy
