For years in my 4 x 4 tents, I have done everything from nine up as my auto pot Set up is designed To accommodate to two up With a bit more training. I’m looking for other opinions. I don’t know if quality is affected, but that is of course the primary interest and I do realize I can veg for less time With More plants Although the difference is slight, but I’d like some other opinions, if you have one, let me know.
Me and @ChittyChittyBangin were talking about this. I cram 9 plants in my 4x4 and cuss myself out Everytime although as you say you can veg less time with more plants.
As far as quality I think that depends on you. If you maintain those plants i.e training and topping and all that good stuff then your quality shouldn’t decrease as long as your light can handle it.
Welcome, I feel like 4 plants is a good number for a 4x4 grow space. You can knock out 1.5 to 2 pounds dryed an cured if done right. Pull and spread the limbs out for maximum light penetration.
Good luck
So many factors to consider.
Large strain or small strain.
Bushy strain or skinny strain.
Container size.
Autos or photos.
If photos, how long you want to veg and will you train them.
Growing method, soil, or hydroponics.
Just to name a few
But with average 5gal containers I’d say 2-4 larger strains.
And if smaller strains 4-6.
I grow in a 4x6 but basically use only 4x4 of it and fans occupy the rest. I typically grow 4 useing autopots but when in soil I’ve had 10 in it.
I can grow 4pot 5 gallon in my 3x3 tents. Should be easier if it 4x4
Thank you with the auto pots I have found four To be The optimum number with a minimum of training. The last usage was two and pretty well filled up the 4 x 4 tent with the edges, being a bit sparse. I am thinking about going with a single plant and a good bit more training, but I know I will be a couple of weeks longer in veg to fill the room to the edges. Going with nine and encouraging a more vertical grow has never worked well for me. I was mainly wanting to hear other people’s experiences. Thanks to all of you for your input. I think when it quits to be a learning game it won’t be fun anymore.
