How long does preflower last

This is my 2nd grow. Reading this forum has made this one so much better than the first time. Thanks everyone. My first grow was basically throw some seeds in dirt and cross fingers. Unfortunately, it turned out exactly how it sounds.

The plant is a 6-8 week auto flower. Is preflower an extra week or so in addition to the 6-8 weeks? First sign of pistils was on May 14.
