Hello all together, my other grow i started with soil and than transplanted from soil to coco which looked first it wasn’t a good idea but than they made it and bounced back and grow to healthy plants.
I started another grow and this one i wanted to start direct in Coco.
So i let the seeds sit in water for 18 hours and after that put them in cotton pads for another day.
After that they had pretty nice tap roots .
I put them into jiffy pads which i soaked in water before. After 2-3 days i put the jiffeys into pre buffered coco/perlite mix which i washed till the run off was okay so it wouldn’t be to strong.
When I had the seedlings in jiffeys first they where all in one tray and they started to stretched and some if them dumped off i guess because of no airflow and to hot temperature because of power outage.
So some off the seedling where pretty weak when putting into coco.
Now it’s day 8 and half of all of them died.
Do you know what is the reason for this ?
And how do you start your seedlings when growing coco/perlite any tutorials or recommendations where and how ?
I followed the coco for cannabis seedling guide jiffey than coco perlite. Looks like it didn’t work out well or really the beginning way to hot temperatures and no airflow was the reasons I really don’t know .
After they start a root in a damp paper towel, I plant the seeds 1/4-1/2" into coco that’s been expanded with full strength Jacks 321. Topside after a day or so, then I put a humidity dome until the leavestouch sides of dome. Within about 7 days, they’re established.
I’ll give them their first runoff feeding at three weeks each. So Sunday and later next week, but I’m literally not measuring what I’m giving right now. Maybe a cup and a half for the YW and a cup for the GSCE. If rh goes up enough I can skip a day. But I’m just giving a little more with every feeding. Using Jacks 321 so they get fed with every watering.
Thanks much, growmie. Scrapped the tent. Cleaned out a closet. Waiting on 2 Super Silver Haze in 1 gallons to pop u, but they’re in soil so I’m not killing myself with all the feeding and mixing. Grow on, brother!!!
I’m having a bit of a problem with cobweb mold right now with my 2 plants in coco. Thanks to @MidwestGuy and @Graysin for there help, I misted the coco with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water.
Do some reading on the cocoforcananbis website. I recommend it often and there’s good reason. It covers everything you need to know to get started growing in coco.
