How do I measure the water PH.?

Good evening Fellow growers. Newer grower here, asking about what I see you all talking about measuring water PH.. I have a Female Clone from my first grow. It seems to be doing well ( never grown a clone). But over the last week, some of the bigger leafs have turned a pale green/yellow.. I am wondering if I need to keep track of my water that I feed her. ( Distilled water from Wal-mart) and the PH. Maybe this is a part of the problem..? Where do I buy a water tester, and how much should I expect to spend on one.?

I have a 3 x3 x 6 foot grow tent with a single fan, a fair grow light. It’s been 4 months since I started the clone in soil. Plant is looking very nice, (lots of foliage) to which I have read here that I should ‘Lollipop’ her.. Flopped to 12/12 about two weeks ago. Nugs are starting to show up, but so are some yellowing leafs..? I would send pix, but I guess I’m too old and stoned to figure it out.. crap. TYIA.

A bit pricey but many of us use this one. All in one for your ph and ppm readings.

I also keep a cheap one around for comparison.

Many use the bluelab testers as well.
Like anything else you get what you pay for.

Good luck brother

Amazon PH and TDS/PPM pens can range from $10-$300 just depends on what your budget and expected life span is. With learning the pens I would say get cheap ones in case you drop it in your water or something else catastrophic happens. You will also need to get the calibration solution both packs for pH pen and the pack for TDS/PPM pen.

Directions should walk you through it. I got a set for around $15 and have not had a problem with numbers after I got calibration set.

Hope this helps

Apera makes quality stuff. I’ve had both my testers going on three years now with no issues other than a replacement tip. Quantity equipment is a good investment if you’re planning on growing awhile. Good luck!

Distilled water…you’re adding nutrients, right?

Without knowing anything but the pics, I say she needs some nitrogen. Very even fade like she is pulling what she needs to support new growth.

Ok cool. I’m not informed enough to be handing out advice, but it kinda looks like the plant is hungry, for nitrogen specifically. When I heard you were using distilled water it made me wonder. Some people don’t realize tap water provides some stuff that distilled doesn’t, do you’d have to add it. I know soil comes with nutes in it so the plant would be fine for a while, but after being watered so many times (4 weeks is what I’ve always heard), those nutes wash out and the plant would starve if they weren’t being replaced.
Just putting it out there, good luck with the grow

Thank you much.. I am using Nutts from ILGM. Going to start (today) using the FlowerTime Fery. 16-6-30. I have been using plant booster that was 0-27-27. I guess its time to add nitrogen to her diet..

Yes, she needs more N during early growth and all through veg. Then the N req is lower during flower and the P & K go up. And cal/mag all through the grow and is responsiblr for aiding in nute absorption and movement.
