How can I improve my indoor grow setup?

First time using an open room instead of a tent. This is the best crop I’ve ever had, but what can I do better next time?

I’ve been told to move the light to the corner and to put a white sheet over the comforter over the window.

Using a 750/1000 watt MH/HPS light with two 4’x4’ square foot trellis nets, 6" inline fan that turns on at 78F with ducting into the attic and intake close to the ceiling, ceiling fan is on 24/7.

Room temp ranges from 55 F to 78 F daily and humidity 15% to 45% daily (it’s winter).

Five gallon fabric pots with cactus soil from Home Depot, using Fox Farm nutrients, but switching to Jack’s next time.

Plants were 2 feet in height from base of plant to top of plant when I changed the light cycle. They didn’t grow any more than two inches vertically for some reason.

Should I get them taller next time, or does it even matter since it’s SCROG and it’s more about square footage than height?

I did t do CO2 this time but I do have 5# CO2 tanks.

Thanks!!! :v::v::v::dash::dash::dash:

You’ve got that setup great :+1: I don’t have any experience with bulb lights but I’ve seen them grow some beautiful plants. Your plants are lookin good :+1:

your plants looking awesome looks like you will have a good return good job!
speaking on my own experience when I did not have allot of the gear I have now …after a while in the room with the humidity and the conditions I started noticing mold forming . idk if anyone else has experienced this, but i was able to clean it up and bought a tent to remedy that issue. just maybe something to keep an eye out for

Nice plants Spacey!

The only thing I might look into is using some panels (cardboard, etc.,) painted flat, “bright” white - large enough to match the height of your plants (maybe about 4’ x 4’?) to reflect some of that light to the lower areas of your plants. 15% humidity seems VERY low - I am using a windowless office for a grow room which averages about 40% humidity.

Great looking girls! Like @SurferDude noted, you may want to figure out how to get the rh to maintain that 45%. Getting much lower can give you some airy buds. Damp towel in a bowl with part of towel hanging out to wick the moisture in the air can help. Being winter for a few more weeks, there’s good chances your rh will keep getting that low.

Doh! I got airy buds from growing in the heat outdoors last summer so don’t want that again. I guess I could buy a humidifier that turns off and on in an optimal range.

Like mentioned above, keep the RH up, but I would especially focus on more reflective surface area to take full advantage of the HID lamp

That temp swing is pretty big. Everything else sounds good to me! But bring that window into maybe 20 degrees.

Also that humidity is pretty low… 40-70 depending on what stage of growth.

Another thing to tweak around with is light intensity and nutrient solutions. Can u push them a bit harder light wise in other stages? And can you make sure to hit every note nutrient wise.

Ok, so maybe a humidifier that turns itself off and on, and a space heater that dies the same for late night low temps.

Nutrient wise, I’m switching to Jack’s next time.

You dont have to make multiple posts. The convo could have continued here just fine. Tag people like @spacey @ and the name of the person

Okay, I’m relatively new here.

Its fine, thats why I was saying it. There’s alot of similar posts and most growers benefit more having alot of relevant information in one place to look back at.

Sometimes you need to start a new post to get new eyes, but I find that not really needed around these parts… ull get seen, now if the answer is known or not kinda leans to the replies.

So you got mold because the humidity was too high in the room? How high was it?

Thanks, I appreciate this webiste very much. :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Thats kinda grow/strain/setup dependent. Some strains are just more susceptible. Sometimes its 70%+. Sometimes higher sometimes lower. Airflow is a premium currency in late flower. And sub 65% humidity.

Me too!! Ive met some great friends… heck some people i consider family from ILGM. Never woulda topped one ounce in my grows without some of these fine folks. So now Im paying it forward.

Thanks Bob!

PNG: You are absolutely correct. Since I started my first grow I have done about everything imaginable to wind up with terrible results.

Used “Blurpies”? Check;

Too much transplanting? Check;

Not monitoring PH of water? CHECK

The list seems endless.

But as I look back, I have leaned a LOT - especially from ILGM’s forums.

Now, I don’t look at my screw ups in a negative light - “growing is learning” is my philosophy.

(If I could just REMEMBER better). LOLOLOL
