Humidity Issues For Grow Tent

I’ve been having a lot of issue with maintaining any level of humidity in my tent. Hoping I can get some suggestions. Here’s what I’ve got and been trying to do:

VivoSun GIY 4x2 Grow Tent
4 inch Inline Fan
VS200 LED Grow Light
Vivosun 5L Indoor Ultrasonic Air Humidifier
Amazon Basics 15-inch Air Circulator Fan

Light at the lowest setting, and run for 18/6 phase.
Humidifier in the middle of the tent, on top of a plastic tote.
The fan is in front of a fresh air vent at the bottom of the tent, which remains open.
The exhaust fan is set to medium, but the temps get over 80f, I turn it up to high.
Hang 2 cloths soaked in water from the top of the tent frame.
Spray the sides of the tent down 2/day with 80/20 water/vinegar solution.
Keep a 5 gallon bucket of purified tap water in the tent.

Despite all these efforts, the humidity does not go above 50%. I have another tent (3x3) that I use for flowering, and do not have any humidity control in their. Just a couple fans, and it maintains the same exact humidity levels (usually within 5%).

Is it just not possible to modify the humidity in a tent like this? Occasionally I’ve seen the humidity get up to 60-65%, but that only lasts for an hour or so. I don’t live in an extremely dry climate. (South Colorado)

Run a humidifier inside the tent?

He is.

I live in Southeastern Colorado and grow in a 4 X 8 grow ‘room’. Humidity was an issue until adding a whole-house humidifier. So the question I have is: what’s your indoor home humidity?

Frankly I wouldn’t worry about 45 to 50% RH in your grow space. That’s about ideal for flower and the plants just have to learn to deal with it.

BTW that light is enough to flower ONE plant.

My bad. Missed that.

I live in denver and this is something I have to deal with as well. Different times of the year the parameters change. Do you have AC or a swamp cooler? My swamp cooler keeps a nice level of humidity in the house from spring to late fall. Winter is where I struggle. Once the heater is back on, the house dries out and I have little control. In the winter I can get to about 50% RH with added whole house humidifiers.

Without a dedicated lung room, we get as close as possible to ideal conditions and let it ride…

Is your grow tent in a lung room, basement, garage, open area?

If in a lung room, try to provide humidity into that area to allow for larger area to be at wanted RH.

Basement, same as above. I know it may suck but heat a basement area with propane can add Humidity into area as well as CO2.

Garage, have your exhaust fan cut off in intervals throughout the day to allow humidifier to oversell the area before exhaustion.

Open area in home, same as garage.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

My home humidity levels are right around 50%. I have a hygrometer setup in my dinning room, and it closely matches what I’ve got in the tents. Usually within 5%.

The tents are in my spare bedroom, which isn’t exactly a ‘lung room’, but I am considering getting a larger humidifier to keep in the room. The bedroom is about 12’x12’. I keep all my gardening equipment in there.

Y’all think I should try setting up a swamp cooler in that room and sealing it off from the central air?

Also - So those lights are only good to flower 1 plant at a time? I was hoping to have 2 in my 3x3x6 tent. Is the tent large enough for 2 but I need a stronger light?

My opinion, no on swamp cooler, though very similar to a humidifier in ways, the ability to regulate proper humidity/vpd ratios will be askew.

Lighting-I would move towards a 300-450 w unit for your space. Setting a 300 w light on 30% equals 100 w being used across a larger area. This can benefit you, by shaving off cost in the final scope of things.

Your cultivars, nutrients ,lighting, and (more over) environment, will decide its final outcome.
