Me thinks me finished the iOS messenger app!
One issue between android and apple:
Screenshots blocking:
android does this no problem…
iOS another story…
they removed the ability for people or developers to code in screenshots blocking. They made a conscious decision to remove the feature and allow a message to another user that that particular user had just screenshotted the conversation.
I believe this is a point of BS. It is better to stop Aholes from screenshotting others and causing drama…instead apple decided it was better to straight up cause drama by not allowing the blocking and instead worrying the victim about what the Ahole screenshotter may do with it by notifying them they have a sh!tty friend instead.
That…seems like a lot more drama.
It is what it is…I will have to now make a special note in Android to ensure they are aware that Apple allows this unsecure behavior…possibly note each account either apple or android…just so people know.
I meant to clamp all of this down, didn’t expect Apple to make this choice. I thought they were all about security?
Any way as disappointed as I am about this…one final test today…the wife corporate wifi test…if messages work there they should work every where.

This is my solution to the screenshot blocking on apple:
If someone on apple takes a screenshot of a chat conversation a popup shows telling them they took a screenshot of a conversation and the other user has been notified…
Then on the other users phone in that chat conversation:
Then…let the drama begin!

I added the warning pop-up, and little icons on each users Avatar pic defining them as iOS or Android. I must add a new one for Android on the iOS app…the current one on iOS for Android looks more like a CPU than a robot.

I think I have both messenger apps done.
Testing a bit more then throwing them into their respective Hortus’s.
I’ll probably start with Android as I have extra stuff I must apply for on the Apple iOS system like “provisioning” to get it approved for Apple. This will give me a chance to test a bit more thoroughly before Apple gets there hands on it to scrutinize it before allowing me to send it out.
I hope for 1-3 week test on Android. 1-3 depending on how many use it/help and any bugs discovered. Once all is good, I’ll make the same changes to the Apple version and get it out to testers…
Sound like a plan?
I am most excited to get all y’all’s opinions on this…this is for sure…the most complicated app or program I have designed so far!

Disaster has stuck!
