Growmie, as soon as mine show their heads, they go outside. Thas just how i do it. Survival of the fittest. ![]()
I second what @Happyday420 i throw them outside as soon as they pop the soil. Only the strong survive lol
Most of them are now out braving the arctic summer… I want you all to cross your fingers for me and hope for a beautiful weather for the next couple of months and a bountiful harvest!!
The first wave will be on the smaller side but I didn’t have the heart to rip the out. Some look like they will be half decent even!
The spots on the leaves is birch pollen, it’s really flying around now…
My try for some nettle fertilizer… collected some young nettles and chopped them, adden some LABs and molasses, and even a dash of JMI(? Is it JMI, the liquid made from potatoes and salt?)…
Very fast it formed some really white fungus on the top. This is already the second layer after stirring it.
@Budbrother my maestro, will this be useful in my ventures, am I doing this correctly..?
JMS microbial solution (potato)
JLF liquid fertilizer
Mix 1:1 JLF & JMS add @ 1:30 water with pinch rock dust
It looks nice and really active. Did you add any rock dust with the LABs, to help cut back on the smell? Something I wish I knew when I made it the first couple times. Always learning.
What else did you add to the nettle? Supposed to be 4 or more inputs in a JLF. Want a complete fertilizer with many inputs.
Edit: You can always just toss the nettles on your mulch layer. Make them part of the lasagna layer. Just another way to use
@Budbrother On the rock dust I have to say no since I don’t have it…
From this list you gave me I think I might score some Comfrey and Thistle. I ll have to check all of them though because I’m not familiar with at least half of them…
Is it ok to add more inputs later on? This thing has been brewing for about a week now. What I read from somewhere is that I should collect plants that are in the same stage of growth as the intended recipient of the fertilizer is, is this correct?
Also, how long I should brew this thing?
That’s how it works. You just keep adding and moving it around. Then put the id on. Wait a month before first usage. Strain the liquid for dilution, and then dump back in the solids. It’s a perpetual cycle of weeds, grass, accumulators, succulents, etc.
The weeds are speaking to you. They mine nutrients that are needed above. When the nutrients are no longer needed that species of weed tends to die off and is replaced by another to do the same job. I now think of weeding as less a chore, and more like fun cause I’m accomplishing so much more.
well yes and no. It depends on the situation I guess. Like if you were going to sacrifice some cannabis plants. Then yes, they would carry over certain hormones. That would be useful. I did week three flowering plants and took all of the tops off and fermented them. Berries that are unripe carries acids that induce flowering. Situations waay advanced for now
Do you have reasonable access to sea water to make minerals?
If not, grocery store time.
1g natural sea salt/L water is the conversion. The article has the rest of the inputs/directions for you.

Then put the lid on

@Budbrother Shop time for me then, got a good 600km to a proper sea.
So, if I were to wait a month for first usage, my main wave would be just in the beginning stages of flowering maybe half way of the Stretch. So now I should find plants that are stretching and flowering?
I actually have two plants in week 2-3 of flowering that I’m pulling so those will go in.
Thank you for the link, it was a good read!!
Don’t think of it like that. Yes, you can make up batch specific FPJ ferments. That would be a separate KNF ferment and style all together.
JADAM: They mean more like, you would do fallen citrus to make up a citrus specific JLF
KNF: Let’s say for example you made an apple blossoms FPJ the previous year. Apply 1:500 foliar at apple flowering season to initiate enhanced flowering.
Back to the flowering stretch. What is your goal?
This is why I talked sacrificial cannabis or hemp plants for cannabis specific ferments or SST. Otherwise, forget it, and don’t over complicate things for now. Toss in those plants and recycle their nutrients.
SST (seed sprout tea) can be used much easier. These enzymes facilitate breakdown of amendments as well as other stuff ie. corn reducing stretching
Found what I wanted to share with you. I follow them and a few others.

@Budbrother The goal for me now is to grow as big and healthy autoflowering plants as possible in this short summer.
Thank you again for the link, I’ll proceed to watch it now! Have a great weekend!
Here are some of the first batch that were suffering from the cold weather:
And here are some from the main wave, roughly two weeks old. I bent them all yesterday in the hopes of getting bushy plants…
Those cold shocked ones seem to be pulling their weight. ![]()
@noddykitty1 a few of them look pretty good yes, and they have plentyvof summer left to finish flowering. I keep my fingers crossed, outdoor is always outdoors!
I got some advice from a friend of mine for pest control: collect nettles in a bucket, add water and some molasses, krep it for three days stirring three times a day. Then spray the plants with it.
@Budbrother What do you think about this, should I add a bit of pune soap for wetting agent?
Yes. Need it to coat and not bead up on leaves.
Edit: I like to use tobacco/hot peppers/garlic
