Prepping for my first outdoor grow, now that it’s legal in MA.
2x Bubblegum fem
2x Gold Leaf fem
2x White Widow fem
3x Blueberry Auto
3X White Widow Auto
Starting in seed starter soil, moving to FFOF & Happy Frog.
5 gall fabric pots for autos / 10 gall pots for Fem
Starting in a tent (basement) and moving outside in a greenhouse
The seeds are in 4" pots now, is it alright if I transplant them into the 1 gal & then 5 gal?
Do autos grow faster than fems or just start flowering based on aged rather than light?
Yes autoflowers will flower naturally with age when they get sexually mature enough to reproduce, as soon as they are they will flower on their own with out forcing, as for will they grow better absolutely right after their first month in a 1 gallon, as soon as they hit the 5 gallon they will explode with new growth and get pretty good sized, and by the time she hits the 5 gallon she should be around the corner for starting flowering and shell have enough room for root space rather than using it up through the grow, thus giving you a higher yield
Thank you for the suggestions @Majiktoker!
I’ll transplant to 1 gal pots and soon as I see roots and the bottom of the 4".
First time growing auto’s & am excited about the possibility of a harvest mid summer.
Its awesome you’ll enjoy it, and my pleasure @North_East_Newbie if you have any more questions feel free to ask ill be more than happy to answer while im around
I guess it depends on what your are looking for in a plant @ShadowElite?
Easiest to grow? Biggest yield? Best type of high?
The box on the left has the auto’s (blueberry & white widow) I am planning to harvest these late June.
White Widows are resilient and may be the best choice for the new grower (which is me)
The other six will be my big yielders. Looking for 10-14 ounces per plant (If all goes well)
If you want to look up specific effects of each strain, this website is great for explaining each one in detail, under the seeds section.
Day 12…Seedlings are about 2" tall.
Still spraying with Ph’d water twice daily.
Moved them into big tent with other plants ( away from the LED’s, dual cfl bulbs hanging over them for light)
Make sure they don’t stretch for the lights by either keeping lights close, or giving more lighting. Maybe add a fan if you don’t already have one. Other than that, great job they’re looking great!
Transplanted the autos( 3x blueberry & 3x wwa) tonight and moved most of them to the big tent.
Used FFOF & Happy from for soil.
6 plants took 1 1/2 gallons for 6.3 PH’d water before run off.
Run off was 6.6.
Still have to transplant the 6 fem this weekend.
Those are going outside in 10 gal fabric pots, eventually.
May have to switch to 5 gal until ready to go outside.
It’s been a while since I’ve updated this journal.
This cold weather is throwing off my timing for planting outdoors (34 degrees this morning).
For this reason, I have 6 photos & 2 autos(in the middle) in a 3x3 tent, that they are out growing:
I’ve added 8 100 watt CFL bulbs for added light and lowered my 600 watt LED closer, as they are starting to stretch a little to much (about 12-15 inches tall)
Here’s a chart for LED lights, it’s for equivalent watt, so if your LED light is 300W follow the chart for it, it’s not made for actual or real draw and it’s an approximation, that clarify, here it is :
120 W to 180W ~1.5 feet
180W to 300W ~2.0 feet
300W to 600W ~2.5 feet
600W to 1200W ~3.0 feet
1200W to 2000W ~3.5 feet
Hoping that’s helping as many as fellow growers possible.
