Hlg lights heat output

How bad is the heat output on the hlg diablos? Its my number one concern keeping me from making such a pricey investment

Heat is not a major issue with HLG lights. Especially if you run them at their most efficient setting (around 75%). You will still need to exchange air in the grow space but should be manageable. Much more so than any other lights out there.

Im currently running a 4x4 with a kindled x750 in it. My 4 ladies are currently in flower and my tent is closed up pretty tight trying to avoid light leaks. Temps with lights on 83-85. Im about to set up my new 8x4 tent and wanted to try a diablo scorpion 2 on the other half of the tent. Was concerned I would be dealing with some heat issues.

I’ve only noticed a 5° raise in temp over ambient temp running HLG’s but not everyone’s grow environment is the same.

I have a 350r, and a 6” exhaust fan. I have zero heat issues. Any decent light will put out heat, but my experience with my hlg is it’s easily manageable.

It uses the most efficient LEDs out there, so the heat output is going to be less than or equal to any light available.

Drivers can put out heat as well and it helps to mount the driver outside of the grow space.

I used to have a lot of trouble exhausting heat from my 4x6 closet grow with the Nextlight Mega in there. It was a constant struggle for several years, then I sold the Mega and got an HLG Scorpion Diablo. Not only did the Diablo make my plants happier and increase my yields, but for the most part it ended my excessive heat issue in the closet.

Not to be redundant, but I had similar issues in my 2 tents as well. The ES-300 in my 2x4 and the Grow 300 in my 2 1/2x5 had my exhaust fans working overtime. I have HLG 350R’s in both tents now, and of course they generate heat, but most definitely less than any of the previous fixtures I’ve had.

Ahh i didnt think you had the option to keep the hlg drivers outside of the tent separate from the light. That was my major concern.

Here is the top of my HLG650 Scorpion Diablo there are interconnected power cords so I would have to believe that you can buy extensions if you wanted. I do not have heat issues.51-70 degrees

Super cool temps whats your lung room look like? Is it inside your house?

My issue currently is when i go into flower i button my tent up much tighter trying to avoid light stress. Thats running my kindled x750 average of 83 degrees with lights on

I used to run Mars Hydro and I had to move my drivers outside of the tent. It was always a challenge to keep cool.

hey bobby, can you weigh in on my recent autoflower post. its about uv ir lighting.

What is your question? Length of uv lighting hours?

That is correct! I have a uv/ir bar by Mars hydro. It’s a supplement bar to add to the best light they have. Anyways, I already finished a whole harvest with the uv and ir on the plant for 20 hours instead of the newly discovered recommended of 2 hours during the day. My plants dumped loads of THC and seemed fine???

Replied below!

Go with what works. If you had no sign of distress then keep with that schedule. I run mine for one hour for every three hours of lights on.

Light leaks aren’t that hard to avoid just no lights on in tent. Open the flaps. My tent is right under this

And I still have my flaps open against the wall

There’s no way light is going to creep over the tent then down the wall then back up at an angle into the tent. Gotta get creative
