Hi everyone this isnt cannabis related but I was housesitting for some friends of mine that have about 100 plants in their place . They are relatively new to having house plants being they just bought this house not long ago. Anyway they just got back and I went over to see what she meant by white stuff on the plants thinking possibly mold? But after getting there is appeared as if it was a bunch of tiny cacoons of sort. So I brought a sample home and put under the wifi handheld scope I bought for trichomes and knowing when my cannabis is ready to harvest.
It didn’t take but a couple seconds to realize I was correct and saw these little bugs with legs moving around . I tried cropping them as best I can but I’m hoping someone can tell me what these are? Also they was only on the 3 viney flowery plants and not any of the palms or other plants .
Before hand I told her that I thought these plants to be the type that butterfly and or moths like to lay their eggs. But they don’t look like butterfly larvae aka caterpillar to me. Secondly they didn’t have these little best before pulling inside from the cold a month or so ago. Any idea wtf these things are please?
Scale was my first thought. Good to look things up to be sure. Most states have a cooperative extension with plant and insect specialist. Try to find a hotline for expert advice.
Well I told her I think for now the best thing is to put them in garage to seperate them and get outta house. I just sent her the results and she said they definitely going out to trash tomorrow. Don’t think they are liking the freezing temperatures out there now whatever they are.
Advise getting naked, burn clothes, run fast home, shower with LAVA soap and body wash with Jack Danniels. DO BRING THT STUFF HOME. like they said… JacK’s Dead bug and run.
EDIT: Looking at each pic, I think I actually see mealy bugs, scale, AND aphids. And, yes, be careful not to bring any of those back to your place! Ack!

They are experts at answering gardening questions, including pest problems.
You can just say your growing culinary herbs if your only concerned with common garden pests.
Most Universities have some sort of Gardening Hotline. Check out your state.
Wow you think all of them ? I did bring a small part back to put under microscope. But that was on a desk far away from a tent that I just got done harvesting now anyway. Then sprayed alcohol on the little spot of desk I had it on . Put them in a plastic bag and in the garbage so I don’t think I have much to worry about as far as my place anyway. I hope . Kinda paranoid a bit now
But now I’m even more concerned for Rachel and her eighty some other plants . Damn !
So I told her to order more neem oil and castle soap to do soil soaks for the fungis gnats . I suppose I should figure out other treatments as well for the aphids n other little asshole bugs .
Also suggested we quarantine them before bringing them in for the winter .
Kinda close but not close enough to go for bug treatment lol. I almost went to vt for picking up cannatrol but 4 hours away is a bit to much for that even . I’m in the most exciting big city with so many things to do you can get lost Binghamton , NY. Forgive my sarcasm it’s really a very boring small city with not much of anything to do if at all. Probably wouldnt exist if it wasn’t for Binghamton university.
Well I do have it , had it delivered . Is why it was closer to 1700 than the original price of 1600. But was only a 1 day delivery , is the one time ups actually did something correct

Yeah well I’m still in debt because of it and still some of the grow equipment. Plus I don’t have kids and I trust very few women so I’m single with little expenses and obligations. So untill someone worthy crosses my path or I stumble across their path I’m spoiling myself lil

Nice setup for sure, I was hoping to move some stuff around to grab one of those before my harvest but it looks like that’s not gonna happen, however I definitely will have one for next batch for sure and hopefully you will let us know exactly what do do for the best taste and smell, I’m definitely sold, I’ll be harvesting in approximately 2 weeks.
