Help identifying issues please!

My plants are just about ready for harvest, one is Girl Scout Cookie, one is Bruce banner. Over the last week or so this has started to happen. Not on the buds, the leaves mostly. Im not a super technical grower, so what am i doing wrong?? Thanks for any help!

Welcome my freind, glad to have ya join us, wish we met on different terms but lets see if @PurpNGold74 knows what’s going on.
This is a first for me so unfortunately I can’t help you myself but if purp can’t he probably knows someone that can.
I’m very curious myself what this is so lets try and find out

Welcome to the forum! Second pic looks like bug damage imo. But it still looks rather odd. Im sure a more experienced grower will chim in soon! Ima tag along to see what it could be. Curious as well.

I was freaking out at the first pic. Thinking some kind of blight or disease. Second told the story better. I definitely think it’s some kind of pest.

@Lacewing is our resident bug guru. Not sure if they are still active. But if so, I’d bet money he has an idea

Thanks for the tag Pappy

Thanks everyone! I will wait to hear what @lacewing has to say and go from there. Actually relieved as I thought it may be some type of blight/disease as well.

Lacewing hasn’t been on in about 2 months

I hope its not a pathogen but I’m not convinced it isn’t.
The holes in the 2nd picture (I assume is what makes some think bugs) and I could be wrong, but it just dosen’t look like bite damage to me.

Looks more like they ripped or just crumbled away from external forces rather than being eaten

Are the spots really that white in color or is it just the lighting or picture?

It is posable maybe we are looking at more then 1 thing.
From my little research through lists of cannabis pests, Thrips is only thing kinda maybe resembles the 2nd picture. But the uniform pattern of the first picture makes me think pathogen :man_shrugging:

Being 2 plants i don’t believe it’s nutrients related but I could be wrong😕

Have you tried looking it over with magnification for tiny bugs or possibly clear evidence of tiny bite marks ?

Thanks for confirming. I haven’t seen the Bug Doc myself in a while…

If I had to guess at a pest, I’d say Broad Mites. Give it a google and comparison. No idea how to combat them from my own experiences. But Captain Jacks Dead Bug, I’m willing to bet, will make quick work of them. I hope it isn’t a disease though. Cuz then, we got bigger problems

Purpngold74, Google it and BINGO! The pics/ description are spot on for broad mites. Says need oil is preferred treatment. THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Hey I’ve read not to use neem oil while in flower, it gets into the buds and can’t be washed off.

Definitely wouldn’t want to use Neem in flower. I mean it beats smoking buds that are littered with bugs. But tastes like crap I’d imagine… not to mention the fact that smoking that crap could be harmful… could be harmless, but I wouldn’t do it.

In flower you look for more organic type recipes. There has got to be something on these forums that could help let alone good ole Google University

Tell us more about your grow. Is it primarily indoor? Have you been putting them out in the sun to finish them off? Or put them out in a sunnier spot than usual? My gut reaction was sun scald.

This is good advice. I could not agree with this statement more. If you spray such juicy buds with Neem, all you will taste is Neem oil after harvest. And get a headache afterwards.

If you prove it to be russet mites I would defoliate all the sun leaves outside and consider harvesting early and a bud wash.

They have been grown totally outside.

Thanks noddy, i was considering harvesting early, i think thats the route i will take. Next question is i have 5 new seedlings anout 10 feet from these, i assume i should move these to a different location?

Really sorry I wasn’t around man ,
I have something similar going on or had I should say ,but I’m pretty sure I had an inchworm doing it .

You can see evidence of it here ,I ignored it and it went away

Plant is a tiny little thing anyway Durban sunrise by mendo 20/20 ,I think those and the mephistos are indoor plants but idk

Anyway the mites !!!
Look into this stuff ,I am against using pesticides AT MY PLACE ,I’m not against them all together lol
This is a bio pesticide made from plant oils only I have used it and it works on the things listed pretty sure it would take care of those
AgroMagen, GrowSafe Bio-Pesticide, Organic Natural Miticide, Fungicide and Insecticide, (8.5 fl.oz.) https://a.co/d/8HvuyCn
