Help With Wrinkled Leaves

Hey Folks

Anyone know what’s going on with this seedling?

There’s no discolouration anywhere, just the leaves looking all wrinkled & I’m not sure why.

It is not under or overwatered & the light is a good distance away & I’ve been using regular tap water without ph-ing & have given no nutes.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks!

What soil are you using?

I would let that soil dry out before watering again. They only need a couple ml of water a day at this point.

Organic soil found at my local hydro store. It’s a “premium” soil with perlite.

Okay. It’s a decent soil for cannabis. Are you giving it RO, distilled, or water that has been pHed?

So long as that is in line the best you can do is to let her grow out of it. Be careful about watering. Let the soil dry out and only give her a couple ml of water per day at this point. Dry soil is far better than wet soil for a seedling. Cannabis needs oxygen to the roots (more so than other plants) and gets limited oxygen with wet soil. Cannabis, in general, will need wet/dry cycles throughout the plant’s life.

Many growers will not water a seedling at all and instead put a humidity dome (a cut pop bottle or clear Solo cup) and spray inside of the dome a couple times a day. The plant can get all of the water it needs via the humidity in the dome. This solves the issue with wet soil. It’s very important since seedlings generally only have a tap root and not a root system to rely on.

Over watered. Let it dry out real well before watering again.

Looks like some variegation and should grow out of it and a little over watered :love_you_gesture:

Need to pH water. 6.2 to 6.8 with 6.5 being your sweet spot for soil. Try not to judge your plants at this age. The first few sets of leaves can and do come out wonky. I start to see symmetry and true leaf structure about the 4-5th node. My first set of leaves comes off with the cotys when I do the 1st transplant as well as some of the others depending on my training plan. She looks great, very healthy.
