Help with high humidity

3rd grow and every single time, the high humidity is the only thing I can never get under control once flower starts. 4x4x6.5 tent. 6 inch inline exhausting out. Two 6 in oscillating clip fans. Just added a 2500 sq. ft dehumidifier and still 76% humidity. 0.70 vpd. I’m not sure what else I can do at this point but I’m open to suggestions.

Increased airflow will help.

How would I go about accomplishing this? Would this be adding additional equipment? I’ve already adjusted all fans and exhaust to the highest speeds and lowest speeds with luck.

Hi is that a typo anyway what’s the humidity in the lung room. Where’s your exhaust exit. In the lung room or sending it outside… Outside vent might let the dehumidifier handle the rest

That was a typo. I meant to say I’ve adjusted all fans to highest and lowest speeds with no luck

Currently exhausting into the long room.

Really need to vent outside the lung room, otherwise your just circulating humidity, not removing it.

I cut a hole in the ceiling and sent into the attic. Charcoal filter is incredible.

Are you manually adjusting speeds or have a controller?

Im using a controller for everything. I have drop ceiling in the room. I can route the vent somewhere out of the room that way just don’t have window to use. I do have charcoal filter in tent connected to the inline fan. It’s a decent sized room. Approximately 10x15 ft possibly slightly bigger just never measured. Have the dehumidifier in the tent because I figured it would have an easier time combating humidity inside the tent rather than the whole room but maybe I’m mistaken.

You want to control the lung room conditions and it will be much easier. Put the dehuey outside the tent, make sure can handle lung room sq ft and then some. It will add some heat unfortunately.

6" exhaust? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pic. Is the style Ventilation you have.

The one that the pic is off of amazon, thats a joke thats like a booster unit, and the other little 4" doesn’t move much air. The 8" style is the only viable solution, but a six inch should move enough aiŕ to help with rhe FAE.

You could put your dehumidifier right outside of your tent and set it to 55% humidity. That way the air in the tent will recirculate the correct humidity back into the tent. It worked for me.

Route the tent exhaust out of the lung room. Ya just gotta. As soon as you do your world will be much easier.

In flower upper 70’s low 80’s is OK for me. Those temps are warm enough to carry out the humidity. The last two or three weeks if ya can, drop the temps to low to mid 70’s and try ta cut back on the water if your media allows. But if I can’t do both, RH is more important.

Reroute the exhaust ASAP, let us know how it turns out.

AC Infinity 8” in-line fan will help after you take care of the exhaust. If I read correctly you don’t have a window, to bad ac infinity makes a window kit to. Good luck with your grow.

Same…I prune my autos more than most on here would say is prudent. Helps a lot, fwiw…better than mold/rot:

We all have different challenges to deal with.

I appreciate everyone’s help and advice. I rerouted my exhaust out of the room and it immediately turned it around. So much so that the dehumidifier hasn’t even turned on yet. Fingers crossed its stays that way. Now I understand the importance of controlling the lung room.

I also live in the Deep South. Terrible humidity

Now I start my grow in late November and it’s finished before the summer humidity hits

I only grow as a sleep aid so one good plant is more than enough.

Does everyone leave their inline exhaust on 24/7 or do you let it cycle on and off?

7x24 but the fan speed is set by the controller based on the environmental conditions. But yes, never shuts off as long as a plant is in the tent

I’m using a controller 69 pro, I set the min speed on my exhaust fan to 1. Just like to keep a little air moving through. I do the same with my canopy fans.

Great to hear you got it whipped!

I’ve reached the point I decided to install another 6" exhaust fan. I also need to switch over to having the light off during the heat of the day. I’m still learning how all my system is working together and trying to remain open minded about adapting to whatever needs to be done.

Basically, although we may have a plan, the plants and weather do what they want and we just have to adjust. Don’t be surprised if you have to take additional steps as the grow progresses. Have a plan, box fan, added dehumidifier, exhaust fan… etc.

For me, the RH in my lung room is around 30%, so to get my tent RH down I need to get more of that air in the tent, an additional dehumidifier wouldn’t help, so I opted for adding an exhaust fan. Mainly because my room lung room is really small and fans in the room pushing into the tent would be a hassle.

Just something to think about while your enjoying your grow!

Big relief to see it at the right levels eh. :slightly_smiling_face:
