My flowers are turning black? What does this mean? It doesn’t look necessarily like mold. Any help greatly appreciated. Outdoor growing.

Looking like bud rot
Look your plants over REAL close, and I bet you find green caterpillars. Have to look close, they blend right in.
Absolutely, cut the damaged flowers off and remove them completely from the garden area. Take the whole branch if you have to.
I’ve had a somewhat dissimilar problem this year, though not to the extent you have it. In my case, I think it’s sooty mold, not botrytis , which in my experience is a gray fluffy mold.
Sooty mold is caused by little critters feeding on your plant while secreting a nectar (actually, they’re taking a dump) onto the plants that then molds. I sprinkled food grade Diatomaceous Earth on my plants and it seems to have discouraged further damage. I plan to wash my buds so the DE isn’t an issue.
This article about aphids mentions sooty mold and how to deal with it:
Good luck!
