@Hellraiser Hi again!

Just a quick question, I’m a noob when it comes to pot elevators but is 13 in big enough for 3 gallon pots or should I get 16 in or 18.5 in?

and the bottom saucers should I get them bigger?

Thanks in advance

I’m pretty sure I’m using 13" for 7 gal pots…I may be mistaken though. As long as they support most of the bag it’ll be fine. Drip pans I would get bigger…I went way bigger and bought 20" (all my hydro store had at the time). They’re a little on the big side, but super easy to suck up any runoff.

edited to add: I even use the 13" risers for the outside plants that are in 10gal pots and they do fine.

@MaD-VapoR Thank you so much!

I use a 3x3 so I wanted to make sure they wont take up too much space.

I use 3 gallon fabric pots. So 13’’ elevators and 20’’ drip pans should be good?

20" pans will be too big for a 3x3 I think. I’d get a size down…16" maybe.

How many you putting in your 3x3?

@MaD-VapoR Sounds good. I’ll get 16’’ for drip pans.

I use 4 plants in my 3x3

Thanks a lot for your answer my friend! I appreciate it a lot

Have you ever used oxy pots? Or the more expensive name brand air pots? I’m using oxy pots right now. I had a similar shitty customer service with air pots.

I haven’t transplanted out of them yet but they seem easy to use.

I use 13ā€ risers and 14ā€ saucers 5 & 7 gal bags fit perfect with room for my wet vac. Can squeeze in more plants in my 3x3 & 4x4 :wink:

Yep 13" is fine for 3 to 7 gal pots and 16" saucers would be a better fit to get 4 of them in a 3x3.

No I have not, always planned to but have not got around to trying them, they look like they would be very easy to transplant out of.

@Chasfitter @Hellraiser Thank you guys so much! Appreciate your response

@Hellraiser and @violagirl0 , I have used the 3 and 5 gallon air pots. I absolutely love them. Transplanting from the 3 to 5 gallon was a breeze. Just unscrew the 2 wing headed plastic screws and unravel the pot from the medium and drop in new pot then backfill like normal. Be aware though that at least for air pot brand the pots do not hold the advertised 3 and 5 gallons. They’re slightly smaller and claim to be equivalent. They do require a little more watering as there is more airflow in the root zone.

I have several plants in them and some leftover fabric pots. I actually don’t see a difference at all in size of plant between oxy pots and fabric pots. But I’m sick of washing and rinsing the fabric pots. Pain in the a$$. Also transplanting from a fabric pot is the worst.

Hellraiser waters daily as is. I haven’t noticed that I need to water more with the oxy pots. I have a room full of half fabric pots and half oxy. I have a few plants in the fabric pots that seem to dry out faster than the oxy actually. Always thirsty.

This is the side of my room with the oxy and fabric pots. Again, about half and half oxy and fabric.

I do like that I can (supposedly) grow bigger plants with less dirt volume using the oxy pots. And that seems to be the case. I have some big ones in oxy pots without issue.

I forgot hellraiser uses fabric and mesh and didn’t realize you were as well. I haven’t used fabric because of the washing part. I’m too lazy for that. Haha
