Variety is nice like you said. You never know, you might come across a strain with some crazy genetics that catches your eyes

May be possible in the not so distant future. After the Zkittlez and Banana Kush run, will get back to breeding/seed making and see if I can come up with fairly stable Cherry seeds. It’d be nice to have some seed backups too, in case something bad happens to the clone mom so I don’t completely lose the genetics, and you never know, an even better pheno of it may pop up as well.

Yeah, would have never found that Blue Dream which is now my favorite wake and bake/day strain without trying new genetics and I’ll be smoking on her clones for many years to come, just like the Cherry.

Well I guess that pretty much clears up what I have been searching for as far as what to look for in a pheno. Out of curiosity, how long did that one take to find/keep? Thank you kindly.

Didn’t really take long, mostly got lucky. Started with a seed I found in a ounce of Cherry Do Si Do I bought (a clone only strain), which was very good, loved the flavor and high, grew the seed, turned out even better than the weed in the bag it came from, was the most sticky plant I ever grew and loved the gorgeous cherry coloring, and I started cloning her to keep her around. A friend of mine was growing some clones of Ice Queen, very potent and tasty strain but small yields and kinda airy buds but absolutely covered in trichs . I thought a cross of the 2 would get the big dense buds (and the cherry color) of the Cherry Do Si Do with the added trich coverage/potency and some flavors/taste of the Ice Queen.
I used STS to make male flowers on a Ice Queen clone and pollinated a Cherry Do Si Do clone. Got a couple dozen good seeds from that and grew them all out - 9 plants to a tent - was pheno hunting so didn’t need long veg times or large yields, then it was just a matter of smoke testing each and every one and deciding which one was the best.
It was between this Cherry Ice Cream pheno and another pheno I called Drunk Girl, because she couldn’t stand up, her branches were always limp and wanted to lay on the floor making a sticky mess of everything she touched, but grew amazing strawberry size/shaped buds and leaves that were almost black. Wish I had kept a clone of her as well but she was a pain in the ass to grow because of her limp rubbery branches.

Oh, and I was calling it Cherry Ice Queen at first but my daughter said that sounded “ghey” (not that there is anything wrong with that) and came up with Cherry Ice Cream, better flow off the tongue.

Yes, at the time it was clone only but I think there’s at least 1 seedbank selling Cherry Do Si Dos seeds now.

About another grow out on using coco. Have two more bags of FFOF and a few HF. Used the gorilla grow one as a guide. Still have some fox farm nutzs I don’t want to waste along with soil.
This one I will have to follow to a “T”. Coco is new to me. Awesome guide. Thank you kindly.

Yes, by Lit farms, sold thru Deeply Rooted seedbank. Keep in mind, that will not get you Cherry Ice Cream, but will get you half the genetics of it, which some great strains went into such as Phantom Cookies, Face Off OG, Girl Scout Cookies. You can get the same coloring of my Cherry Ice Cream with the right pheno of Cherry Do Si Dos.
