I’m finishing my 3rd grow with a grand total of 13 plants. Growing straight thru since August of 2021.
With years worth of cured pot for my wife and myself already in storage and plus just giving away 95% of the harvest to friends and family anyway, has anyone taken like a 4 or 6 month break from growing?
Being off, did it make you want to grow even worse?
Or on the other hand did you slowly start to lose interest altogether in growing?
Just curious if it was healthy to do that sort of thing or not?
ive beeen growing for almost a year straight, so not much growing time but i don’t think ill take a break unless i go on a sweet vacation from winning the lottery, so looks like ill be growing straight for a while lol.
Been at it since June last year and haven’t been without a plant at some stage in the grow since. Unfortunately, the 2 I have left in flower are the last for a few weeks. I wanna drop beans now
Me too. I’m finishing a couple outdoor girls inside and have to wait another 4 weeks till my room is clear.
Then scrub and paint. So add another week or so.
I run both in and outside in season so almost always plants growing.
I have been growing continuously since 8/2019. I have always had something in the 3x3 tent. I would occasionally grow one plant in an unused bathroom. Last year I built a closet to run up to three autopots in scrog frames. I have backed off to using only two. I am at the point where I literally have run out of storage space.
I have cut the last two plants and they are drying now. I have not dropped any beans and am going take a one month break to enjoy our fall weather and kick back for a while.
During this down time I will build a new scrog frame for the 3x3. And think about how I want to prune and train the new crop.
I wish my wife would let me give some away.
I’m doing this to a close in our spare room. Meant to loooong ago, but never got to clear it out. I’m going to apply caulking at all seems and cut a hole from it to the cost adjacent (emergency food and Christmas storage) and port my exhaust there. I’m not sure if I’m going to put mylar lining or just flat white paint.
I’ve only been growing a few months but immediately started my second grow and third grow a few days after harvesting my first.
I love growing so much I decided on a career change and got hired at a dispensary working with plants just so I can always be growing and on a bigger scale than I can at home
Every time I’m trimming I say “think it’s time to take a few months off”. Then when it’s curing and I open the bag I say, “Got Damn! Gonna need more of this”
We are in an illegal state. She has a thing about keeping it secret. She doesn’t even want me to tell our 30+ year old kids what I have been up to. When we give some to one son she explains that she bought it for him. He says thanks and smiles at me. Then I slip him a couple more ounces. Very strange but it is what it is.
I have a niece that had a psychotic breakdown (she is 43) a couple of years ago. She began ratting everyone out, including her husband. I took down my grow at the time and sat out for about 9 months until she got herself under control.
According to my stats on this forum i started dec 31 2019. We now have 4 rooms and a cloning room. Looking to add another 4x8 tent this doesnt include the outside and i want to add a greenhouse to the side of my shop building. I label my grows by number and the storage containers are 5 gallon buckets w lids and mason jars. Grow 16 is hanging now. Cut about every 4 or 5 weeks. I make lots of rso and store in 1 ml syringes so i can have it on hand for any friends that get diagnosed w cancer ill be able to help. Turns out my wife just got diagnosed w “C” . Also use that concentrats for edibles and make qwet for vape carts.point is theres plenty to do with the extra weed. All this while working full time. When i retire i wanna double everything. Cant see me wanting to take a break. I love when someone says how much they enjoy my work.
@VirginiaGrowBoy I’ve done the same thing. Just give it away to friends. Then you start to know who your real friends are. I’ve been able to weed out ( pun intended) true friends and friends that keep in touch because I grow some kick ass nugs. My true friends never ask for any and they are given plenty. The false friends are the one who are always asking for some.
