Has anyone turned a tall grow tent into a 2 level grow for autos?

If so how did you do it ? My upper and lower humidity and temp don’t change that much maybe 5 degrees , maybe and 6% humidity. Can I just use a big ass table or is there something I’m not considering ? I have the AC Infinity 844 so it’s 48"x48"x80"

Have thought about it but I’m going back to photos I believe. Absolutely no reason you couldn’t though with all these nice bar style lights out now…

Imo if you could use some sorta racks with bar style lights to get better light reflecting around, but you could separate it any way I would imagine… long as air moves and heat does not become a problem as you need a light for each level so twice the light heat.

Ahhh that’s what I forgot. Twice the heat. Ill buy an extra T6 inline but she’s in my personal room hasn’t got above 76 yet

My small bar lights power supply comes off and I just lay it on top of the tent. It helps alot with heat by putting it outside the tent if you can.
If you considering it for more yeild I think about photos and let them get big.
But if you want to grow multiple strains and still get a decent amount of each them the autos in a rack system would be ideal I believe.

I’m just thinking about my grow. It would have to be a compact style. White widow auto might stay under 40”, Critical Mass & Kush autos wouldn’t.

A series of shop shelves might work - either something pre-fab or make own with slotted angle iron.

I’ll say every auto I’ve grown grew 4 feet tall or better I did grow in 7 gallon pots so possibly keeping 3 gallon may be able to do so with a couple plants per level with training but u can get the same out of one level I’m thinking without all the back breaking work on ladders to reach the top level

I would put conduit clamps on the corner tent poles at same height. Then cut a piece of heavy duty plastic at least 1/2 inch thick that would fit between the poles and set that on top of the clamps. Then get 2 pieces of pvc or any kind of plastic pipe make sure that 1 piece fits inside the other piece. Cut the larger diameter 1 and cut somewhere around 30 inches long and the smaller diameter 1 31 inches long. Then on the larger diameter 6 inches from the top drill a hole the correct size to fit a threaded top hat in snugly rim on inside of pipe.(I would go with 1 that takes 5/16 bolt) start a bolt in it. Cap the bottom with a piece that screws on the wall to put up a rack it also looks like a top hat this is to protect the floor ( also attach 1 of these to the center of plastic shelf to keep pipe from slipping out)Slip small pipe inside larger 1 adjust to correct hieght tighten bolt.
You could do same with wood but I personally wouldn’t. Wood can absorb moisture then mold or attract bugs.
Hope this helps.

let’s do some math here. the tent is 80 inches tall. divided by two that’s 40 inches. pot height is about 12 and then you have the lights, and you’re at about 16-24 inches of plant space for growth. that’s not a
whole lot. and then you have to deal with runoff and making sure that doesn’t get on your lower light. i dunno. personally i wouldn’t do it.

The idea would be more suitable to only vegging, seedlings and clone propagation on a couple feet of one side. But then you have to deal with light on the flower side. Wait a minute, I think there are tents available to do this.
Never mind.

It would be interesting to see. The way I’m picturing it the plants would have to be really short. 40” for a pot, plant and light is not much but possible if you are determined.

I would like to know how tall do your plants get? There has to be a reason you thought of this. Could I please here what it was?
I’m always interested in new ways or even improved old ways. Just because something didn’t work for one person doesn’t mean it won’t work for another with a slight tweak here and there.

I have a an 80" tall tent and my plants only get about ,3 feet high. Even if I moved em to a flower room later it doubles my 4x4 vegging area.

Exactly . I want it for vegging and seedlings.

Sounds like a good idea. It would allow you to have 2 to 4 sets of however many you need for flower room (each set started at different intervals) ready for flower room at harvest. Harvest every 2 week or month. Wish I had that much room. But since Dad got sick had to give up my finished basement so he has a place to live that he can be cared for. Leaves me with very limited space.

The only problem I see for vegging and seedlings is how many plants you might have to shuffle around for maintenance/watering.

You might want to go with a horseshoe shaped shelving design to improve access.

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while. I have a theory that I could put a 4x4 table in the tent, preferably about 2 1/2 feet tall. My thought is a light underneath the table where I can germinate seeds, clones, etc. Then the top of the table would be where the flowering plants went. With the light at the top of the tent, and some lst for the plants, I can’t see why this couldn’t be done.

I was trying to do kind of the same. So this is what I have right now. I just got my GSC Extreme in so imma germ them then check the DLI and raise them closer to the lights as needed. It would be nice to have those girls on level 2 and some vegging and seedlings on a whole separate lit level down below. My issue is heat so imma wait tily taxes come in and order the appropriate lighting.
