What pot size for a 2.3x2.3 tent

First time growing and I have a 2.3x2.3 tent with SF1000 light. I bought the auto flower classic pack (Sour D, Super Skunk and AK47) with some 3gal and 5gal fabric pots. My question is what size pots and how many should I look to grow to start? I’m looking for a good balance for yield and potency without being overwhelmed. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!!!

Ok have a few questions first. Did you buy the spider farm kit 27,27,63 tent with sf-1000 light and other stuff? Just wondering I did, didn’t know any better. I’m a newbie and using 5 gallon fabric pots. Started in the small tent had to quickly upgrade ran out of room. I would say use the 3 gallon pots might be able to do 2 in that space, but will need more light. Or just grow 1 in a 5 gallon. That’s all the space u will have.
Where a pic of 3 autos in a 27,27 in 5 gallon frantic pots. Not a lot of room and this is when they where small,

For autos 3 gallon pots should be more than enough and I wouldn’t run more than 2 at a time but you could also do 2 gallon pots and run 3 plants but if your just starting out and have never grown before id stick with just 1 or 2 plants to get the feel for it and learn some before investing more time and money into multiple plants also are you going to be growing in soil or hydro of some sort?

My autos have consistently averaged 24" every which way you measure. 24"Tall (from soil base) 24" wide/diameter canopy.

Most have produced 2 oz finished bud and my best, most recent was right at 4 oz.
That is a pretty good starter set up and I would say do 1 plant and maximize it. 2 or more plants would not give a lot more in the end due to space.

Yes I did. I’m thinking about starting with just 1 5gal to start. I’m excited to get started and learning with my first grow

I’m growing in soil but at some point I would like to try other mediums and see what works for me. Thanks for the advice!!!

First time grower also. I currently am growing 4 plants in the 2x4x6 tent. Mine have been growing tall and skinny (I didn’t do a great job with light positioning in the tent), started in 1 gallon pot and transferred to 3 gallon pot.

Just curious, have any of you cut the leading stem before around a month in? Does this help grow wider, produce more yield?

Thanks!

Would definitely say the 4 plants in the 2x4x6 tent does not give the plants a lot of space. These are on week 9.

I plan on growing 1-2 next go around and want to try and increase yield.

Do you mean topping?

Exactly that. When the plant is young and has 4 “nodes”, points where leaves grow from main stem, cut the emerging new leaves from the very top. This causes the plant to make 2 main stalks (colas) instead of 1. If done correctly, you get lot more medium to large buds instead of 1 large and a bunch of medium to small buds.

Awesome, yes topping was what I was referring to.

Thoughts on using the Trellis netting inside the tent?

I am really “hands on” with my plants so don’t use a net. I like to lift the pots to help decide when to water and I move them around a lot too.
I have seen the results of proper usage and it is impressive for sure.
Neither of these were topped but I did a lot of training to keep the canopy level. They are actually the same exact age but one was stunted for about 3 weeks or so. This one is about 24"

This one is more like 12"

These are both 9 weeks from sprout.

I think the pic I posted earlier is one that was topped…

Two 3 gallon pots

The best way to improve quality and yield is to use LST or topping or fimming to have a plant canopy with uniform height. Compare your single colas plants to @HMGRWN. A little LST can go a long way. @Richdawg85 Flattening and spreading out the branches requires more horizontal space. So, try one plant, in either a 3 or 5 gal pot, and work hard at getting that flat even canopy.
With autos you have to get at it early. You may have only four weeks to do most of the work. It needs to be tall enough, i.e. growth of 4 or 5 nodes to do most of the bending, topping etc. You can do some bending during early flower but a limited amount is better.

If you mean the Spider Farmer 27x27 a 5 gallon pot would just fit 1 plant.
With 3 gallon pots maybe two plants but 2 gallon pots would work with two plants. Happy growing
This is a Big Bud Auto in 5 gallon and space is getting really tight.
pic is sideways?

You can maybe get away with 3 3 galloners or 2 5 galloners what nutrients are you going to use, if you haven’t picked one definitely invest in some jacks 321
