Has anyone found fabric pots to be smaller than advertised?

I know when I asked I was told growing in 3gallon pots are possible but will lower the vield based on the root constraints. I have since went to 5.

That’s not neccesarily true. I see growers on here every day in 2 and 3 gallon pots outgrow other growers in larger pots. Bigger pot is easier to keep healthy plant, therefore easier to yield more with. But no guarantee you will yield more because you have a bigger pot. In fact, I’ve seen several growers here try to run autos in large pots and have extremely small plants. Seemed like the plants spend too much of its veg period expanding roots and not enough of it developing enough to produce bud sites.

Really? Now I am confused on whether to start in 3 or 5 I already have bought both maybe I will use both and see what works best. Thanks

That’s an excellent idea. I would try more than once too.

I have tried 3 and 5 gal pots, and really had no difference in my yields. That being said, the 5 gal are a lot easier to me for watering and such…

I think my biggest problem is my area, it only fits so much, so my pot comparison may not be an accurate judgement, as my canopy is the same size regardless of pot size. Just saying if your area is limited, it may not matter…

I’ve noticed a lot of difference in the fabric pots. It’s good to look at the dimensions before you purchase. You can grow Autos in 3 gallon pots. Personally, I like 5 gallon.

5 gal should be 12x12 I have 7 gallon that’s 14x14
I-power on Amazon

I only grow photos, but having said that I personally found 3 gallon cloth pots too small because I had to water more often. Not
as convenient. I always did pretty well with 5 gallon pots so that is what I typically use. 7 gallon pots perhaps could be better, but uses up more growing medium. (In my case Pro-Mix).
For me the main event is hydro. Plants grow fast and as big as I want to wait. Cloth pots give me a way to use up Mother plants and other projects like breeding or using up excess clones etc.

@joeypraterthats I’ll have got 2&2 it’s small enough bu we can grow up three plants :seedling:

Yeah I am gonna squeeze 3 in.

Got a indoor plant indica? I grow for own personal use and I to?

I just have the three gallon pots tic hopefully that’s big enough? I wonder but if we do five than we are really squeezing for room

@Reticence you a hydro grower all be darn

That’s about right depending on your light. I have a 96x80x60 tent and I have to move them outdoors because they will outgrow the tent. I have 6 plants.
